She didn't even know Kol. Why should he be brought back to life anyway? Scarlett tossed and turned as the sun rose.

But then she felt Guilty, Kol deserved as much life as Alex and Elijah did, and Davina loved him and it was the only reason Scarlett had even an ounce of hope of getting one back.

She wasn't selfish, and even if both of them were brought back. Who would she love more? Who would she choose? Or was she fated to run around in circles and change her mind all of the time.

She couldn't choose because she couldn't decide who she loved more. If she tried to settle on one, she couldn't stop thinking about the other.

The day quickly fled as Scarlett was sat thinking and thinking. And soon enough, it was near time for her to relay her decision onto Davina. She was so nice by doing this for her, but she didn't realise how this tore her.

In the end, she flipped a coin. It sounded insensitive and uncaring. But it just told her what she wanted to know.

The coin landed with the heads facing up, but every fibre of her body told to try again, best out of 3, best out of 5 until finally it landed on heads.

And then she knew, she knew what she wanted most.

She picked up her coat and stormed out, determined to get their quickly and lock in her answer before changing her mind.

Of course doubts poked at her on her way, but when she was stood in the cemetery, when she was stood in front of the two earns labelled with each name of her boyfriends. She knew.

A fire roared, reflecting in her eyes as she stared down. One was marble with blue bordered all the way around and one was wooden with golden edges.

"Have you chosen?" Davina asked her "the moon is almost reZching its apex and I need to get ready"

Scarlett's eyes flickered from one earn to another, finally lifting the wooden one and handing it to Davina "I choose this one" she said, not making eye contact, she just stared at the ground "please, before I change my mind"

Davina took the earn and walked away from her. "I'm so sorry" she touched the lid of the marble one as she began to let out tears. "Please understand, he makes me happy"

Klaus was stood near her. He just stared as he wasn't sure who she had picked, but he hoped for the best and prepared himself for the worst.

She turned around and pressed her lips together in a sad smile. Scarlett then lifted the marble earn and placed it on the higher wall, the plaque facing the other way, so she couldn't see it.

"The moon has risen" Davina observed, she Poured the ashes of Kol and Scarlett's choice around the fire as smoke began to rise and cover the scene.

Scarlett could barely see. The smoke danced around her, yet It was so thick, neither her nor Klaus could see Davina properly, just the outline.

And Davina began her incantation, drawing of the energy of whatever she could get her hands on. Dark objects, the souls of the dead and the damned. She was a shunned witch, but it didn't stop her from receiving the help from other shunned souls.

The smoke thickened as the fire began to rise and dance uncontrollably. It was a beautiful sight and Scarlett would stop to admire it at any other time but not now. Right now, her eyes were fixated on where Davina had poured the ashes.

She was going to throw up, she wanted it so badly, and if it didn't work, Scarlett didn't know what she would do. She'd rather die than feel that disappointment because right now, her hopes were higher than the stars in the sky.

She wanted him to hold her again. The thought about it gave her shivers, but it's been some time, she wasn't sure if there'd still be a soul to save.

Davina began to shout as the wind picked up and blew aggressively. Scarlett could hear the whistling over Davina's voice, that showed how much power this spell had absorbed.

But as Davina reached the peak of her voice and was practically screaming, that's when she saw silhouettes rise from the ashes.

There were two. One Kol and one Scarlett's. And she couldn't wait to hold him again, because they looked pretty much alive from the way that they were moving.

Kol was he first to emerge as Davina halted and the fire died down. The smoke still lingered a while longer but there was a hint relief in the air.

"Davina you clever girl" he ran out and hugged her, spinning her around and kissing her neck. "I love you"

Scarlett didn't look at them longer, she was fixated on the other man emerging. Her breathing heavied as she longed to have those moments that Davina was sharing with Kol. She wanted to hear those words.

Scarlett's fingers tingled as she played with them. Her feet froze and she couldn't move further forward to him. She couldn't yet see him, but his presence felt familiar. The way he walked, was slightly off, but maybe death can do that to a person.

He walked closer and closer until he finally emerged from the smoke and fog, finally revealing to everyone who Scarlett had chose.

But she couldn't move. It felt like her heart had stopped in its tracks as she looked at the man before her. She didn't know what to do, hug him or run away.

But the only energy she could muster up at that moment was the energy to whisper his name.

Her lips parted as he said it.

"Alex"
