Malin released a howl of agony, slamming into the ground with a bone-cracking sound. "MALIN!" Sky shrieked, her hands ablaze as she snapped her head at the direction of the voice, boiling with rage. Whoever attacked him was going to be reduced to ashes! "My, my," The voice said again, "I have a pesky little rat in the way of my prey! I'll just do the same as planned for him, only worse!"
"Rat . . . ?" Sky asked. "RAT?!" The blazes became more violent as she roared, blasting it in the direction of the voice. A blur of dark red darted out, something cutting into Sky's hip. She clenched her jaw, extinguishing the flames on her right hand and placing it over the gushing wound. "Sky, Four, can you take care of the attacker?" Bella called out. Sky and Four nodded, Four pulling out his gun. With a crack of her knuckles, Bella, Artemis, Arrow, and Ross charged at the man next to Flare, using Shadowshaping and magic to take him out.
Four aimed at the rushing dark red and shot a complete round of bullets, missing. The figure stopped abruptly between him and Sky, revealing a person (Most likely female from the voice) wearing dark red robes and a mask; the mask covered the bottom half portion of her face with stitches along the mouth. Her orange eyes gleamed sadistically. "So, you're the ones that she wants swimming in their own blood, eh?" She cackled, her pale hands coated in black fire like before. Four growled and emptied another round at her, but she simply burned the bullets. "Now, it's my turn." Her voice rang with violence.
The assassin lunged herself at Four, in which he dodged and grabbed her ankle. She only grinned, and with an uncanny look in her eyes, blasted more fire at the vulnerable Malin. He gave another shriek of pain as the flames licked him, forcing him back down. A whoosh of wings alerted the audience of Astra, who had glided near Malin, using her talons gently to put out the fires. "Oh, a faker tries to ruin my little mouse?" The assassin giggled, a dark purple circle surrounded her and Malin. With a snap of her fingers, they became engulfed in dark fire. Sky snarled and shot electricity at the assassin, finally hitting her. She gave a sharp cry, then flung herself at Sky, tackling her over and crippling Four with the same pillar of flames that attacked Malin and Astra.
"NOW I HAVE THE UPPER HAND, AND I CAN SHRED YOU TO LITTLE BITS!" She laughed, ripping off her mask and showing sharp teeth. Sky struggled to use her limbs, but the assassin had them down so tight! She gave another cackle before diving her pointed fangs into Sky's neck.
But it never met flesh . . .
Sky felt the weight lift from her, seeing the assassin floating mid-air, surrounded by a gold aura. Her gaze traveled over to Lynn, who had both hands extended outwards, the right one at the flame pillar that ate Malin, but Sky now noticed that it was being controlled with the same gold aura. Her left hand pointed at Four's flame pillar, which were being forced down. Then she saw Lynn's pained expression, and her eyes: they both had a black sclera and a golden glow. "Nobody . . ." She panted, "hurts them and insults them like that!" Her left hand slammed downward, grounding the flame pillar around Four and the assassin down, a loud crack showing broken bones. She shrieked loudly, forcing a hand upward. Lynn hissed and closed her hand, the assassin's arm drawing back. Sky heard Astra roar as she flew out of the dark fire pillar, holding Malin tightly.
"Y-you TRULY think a little bit of restraining will stop ME?" The assassin sneered. Lynn grinned. "Yup!" With a sling of her hand, the assassin flew towards her, Lynn driving a dagger into her head. Blood gushed down, her howl fading off of her lips as she became limp. Lynn sighed, putting the dagger back in its sheathe and tossing the body to the side. Suddenly, the Daku gave a shudder and collapsed, gripping her forehead. "Lynn!" Bella roared, separating herself from the fight with the mysterious man (Whom the Shadow Dragons seemed to be having a bit of trouble with). She knelt beside Lynn, cautiously extending a hand out to her. "Lynn . . . ?" She asked softly, barely touching her friend's back. Lynn gave a groan of pain, curling up into a ball. "It hurts . . ." She whimpered, curling her tail around her leg. Bella hushed her, waving a hand over her with a warm glow. "It's alright, Kitten," She said softly to Lynn.
