CHAPTER FIFTEEN
Three years ago...
CHARLIE WAS upset—disappointed by the wrong decisions he ever made.
Who is to blame anyway? Their parents? Because they were the ones who pushed them to deceive his grandfather? Is it Erica to blame? Because she didn't stand for what she believed in about lying?
No. Of course not. It's his fault. Pumayag siya sa nangyari. Dahil kung tumanggi siya, no one can execute it with Erica.
Charlie's heart was torn apart as he was sitting alone, and infront of him was his beloved grandfather's casket.
He grew up as a jolly and playful kind of guy. He can't go on a day without his smiles and jokes. Charlie doesn't want to be like those boring uptight men he sees in school. He wanted to be a man that was easy to approach and can put a smile on everyone's faces.
Agatha was two when he was ten years old. Agatha was crying.
He doesn't like seeing his baby cousin cry. And when she stopped crying and smiled at him, it was the best feeling ever.
Mula noon, nangako siya sa sarili, he'll put a smile on people's faces. He'll make them laugh. At nagagawa niya nga iyon lagi.
He never cried. Because his personality only knows how to smile and laugh. But he never cried for them. Naglalasing siya. Minsan, nagda-drama.
He thought his intention of making people happy is all good. Pero may bad side rin pala iyon. He wanted to make his grandfather happy. So, he needed to fool him to make him smile and happy continuously.
Yes. He had put a smile on his grandfather's lips. Yes, happiness was all over his grandfather's face. Don Carlos Ditangco only wanted to keep his promise to his late bestfriend. Sila ni Erica ang susi doon. And when he "believed" that it happened, Charlie can never take away that joy in him.
He loves his grandfather. So much. Nakakasama niya itong maglaro noong bata pa siya. He was the only grandson. He was the favorite. Grandpa Carlos gave him everything. He was a Lolo's boy.
He never cried. But his grandfather's sudden death hurt a lot. He knew for a fact that sooner or later, his grandfather is going to die. But he never wanted him to die not knowing the truth. Or he never wanted him to know the truth and die because of that.
