I make my way into the house, pushing through the grinding, intoxicated body's.  I look at all the couples as their body's move to the beat. My mind starts to think about him again so I push faster, sighing when I finally meet the kitchen.  I spot what I'm looking for in seconds automatically going over and making myself a drink.

"Rum and coke huh?"

I turn around to see who was talking to me. I smile as I spot one of my best friends. "Oh hey Connor."

He took the rum out of my hands, pouring himself a drink. "So..... your thinking of him again?"

I look over at him trying my best to smile, probably just looking constipated instead. "How did you know?"

He gives me a small smile before picking up his cup. "cheers" I grin smacking my cup into his.  He winks at me before taking a drink. I smile to myself before also taking a huge drink scrunching my nose as it burns down my throat.

"Ever heard of baby sips?" he asked chuckling a little. I didn't answer, instead I just took the cup again finishing off the whole cup before coughing a little but still smiling as I flip it upside down to show that I had finished all the content. Connor rolled his eyes taking my cup filling it up again. I nodded a thanks before actually taking a sip this time.

"So why are you here?" He looked up at me before sitting up on the counter, careful not to spill his drink.

"Because I knew you would be here, and you always need a babysitter for parties anymore." I frowned a little at him ready to defend myself and deny that it wasn't true before sighing, running my fingers through my hair. He had a point. Last party I danced on a table then found a few random guys to make-out with, sadly one of them had a girlfriend and when I found out memories came flooding back making me go into rage and I slapped him across the face and knee him in the groin.

"The guy had it coming to him." I said looking down at my feet not wanting to admit that it was kind of my fault as well seeming as I kissed him.

"Shay you are very fragile right now and I completely understand that, that's why I am going to be beside you every time you come to a party from now on. I'm not going to be like Megan and just tell you that you shouldn't be coming to these things anyway, because I completely understand and I know that you aren't going to be better after just a few weeks. I know it stings and I want to be the friend that helps you so that it doesn't sting as much." He opened his arms out for me and I immediately fell into his embrace, as a million emotions came flooding in since he was the first person to actually understand some of my pain.

"You are a great friend, you know that?" I smiled as I felt the vibrations from his low chuckle go through me, leaving a nice warmth in it's place.

We sat there for a few minutes not talking, enjoying the nice silence that filled the kitchen, except for the pulse of the beat and faint music in the background.  That of course was quickly interrupted by a dirty blonde boy who's hair resembled Luke's sending a small pang in my chest. "There you two are, we've been trying to hunt you guys down for like 15 minutes. We are playing beer pong if you would like to join in..."

He looked up to me, green eyes filled with concern. I smiled, my heart warming from a guy actually caring. that hasn't happened in a while. "Lets go kick some ass."

He returned the smile helping me off the counter, then pulling me through the kitchen doors and into the crowd.

"COMMON CONNOR YOU GOT THISSS!" I slurred. It was our 4th round and we only needed one more shot to win. I watched as he walked up to the table and brought his hand back to toss the small ping pong ball.
