38 - He Goes Through Puberty

This takes place when you guys are best friends but you're both around like twelve years old and his voice is changing 😂

Ashton -

You were more of a tomboy at age 12, so your best friend was a boy named Ashton and his 3 other friends Luke, Calum, and Michael.
You guys had agreed to meet up at the park to hang out, so when you got there and saw them huddled together you jogged over.
"Hey guys," you greeted.
"Hi (or hey)," they all hummed in response.
Except for Ashton. He nodded in your direction, acknowledging your presence.
Funny. He was usually the most talkative.
You noticed that throughout the day Ashton barely ever opened his mouth, and you were confused.
"What's wrong, Ashton?" You asked him finally.
He shrugged, shaking his head. Nothing.
You frowned. "Then why aren't you talking?"
He shrugged again, and you noticed the other three snickering.
You crossed your arms. "What is going on?" You demanded.
Michael smirked. "Ashy poo over here is finally going to be a man."
"Yeah," Calum agreed. "The details are a little squeaky, but that's it more or less."
The three of them burst out laughing at Calum's joke, and you finally understood what was going on.
"Ash," you looked at his face, which was the cope of a tomato, "say something, please."
He shook his head.
You sighed. "Fine." You turned to the other three. "Do you guys wanna go swimming at the squeak - uh, I mean creek." You cracked a smile at Ashton and ran away with the other laughing boys.

Calum -
Calum was very prideful. It was just the way he was.
So wen your best friend only texted and emailed you for the entirety of spring break, with no phone calls or meet ups, you knew something was wrong.
Your mom drove you to his house, and you stomped all the way up his front steps.
Knocking on the door, you impatiently waited for Calum to open the door.
Opening the door was a drowsy Calum, still tired from sleep.
He was rubbing his eyes until he saw you, then snapped to attention when he realized it was you.
Suddenly he wasn't so tired.
Crossing your arms, you looked at him angrily.
"So?" You asked. "Where have you been?"
He opened his mouth, then closed it again.
"Why aren't you talking?" You asked.
Silence.
"Did I do something?" You asked, confused.
He violently shook his head, then sighed.
"Y/n," his voice cracked. "I sound like a dying walrus."
"And you're embarrassed because...?"
He rolled his eyes. "I'm going through puberty, y/n, how awkward is that?"
You laughed. "Really? That's why you haven't talked to me? Oh my gosh," you giggled.
He blushed. "It's not funny."
You sobered up. Then you looked back at his face and laughed again. "Yes, it is."

Luke -

Luke was your neighbor, so you hung out at his house often.
You were lounging on his couch, watching TV together when his mom came in. (*cough* queen alert *cough*)
"Hey guys, do you need anything?" She asked.
"No mom, we're fine," he said, his voice a little squeaky.
He furrowed his eyebrows. "I think I'm losing my voice," he told you.
"Ooh!" His mom squealed. "My baby! My baby is becoming a man!"
"Mom, what are you talking about?" Luke asked, slightly disturbed.
"Your voice is changing! Aw, my baby, the last son I'll hear voice changes from..." She gasped. "This is a camera moment!" And she ran out of the room.
Luke groaned loudly. "Mom!"
You bit your lip to stifle your giggles.

Michael -

Michael threw his video game controller on to the cushion next to him, groaning in frustration.
"Michael, I was hitting random buttons. I really didn't mean to kill you."
"I know, I know, I..." He trailed off his a strange look came across his features.
"What?" You asked.
"Listen to my voice!" He exclaimed. He jumped onto a couch, pumping his fist in the air and puffing out his chest.
"I am a man, now!" He shouted in a deep voice. Well, tried to, anyways. His voice cracked midway.
"Michael," you said, disinterested. "Can you please become a man later so we can finish this game?"
