You awoke in your shared bed, patting the spot next to you, only to be met by empty space.
Looking next to you, you expected to see your boyfriend of 4 years, Ashton, there, but he wasn't.
Looking on your nightstand you found a note.
You picked it up.
Elena,
I've gone out to get breakfast. And Starbucks. Be home around 8:30.

You loved how thoughtful your boyfriend was, and you got up to get dressed.

As you waited for Ashton, you looked through pictures of you two.
You felt something special coming, and looking at pictures helped settle your knotted stomach.
Smiling, you looked at your favorite picture of the two of you.
It was of you two sitting in front of a giant Cherry Blossom tree in you favorite park, and you were sitting in between Ashton's legs, and we're smiling up at him. He was smiling down at you, his dimples prominent (YES), and your noses were brushing.
You were both mid laugh, and it was such a perfect picture.
Feeling a buzz in your pocket, you pulled out your phone to see a text from Ashton.
Babe be ready to leave in 5. I have a surprise for you

You shuffled to the door, putting your shoes on, wondering what the surprise was.
Ashton's car horn sounded outside, and you locked up and went for him.
Sliding into the passenger seat, you gave Ashton a peck on the lips.
"Hey, babe, what're we doing?"
He gave you shy smile, but he seemed nervous.
"What kind of surprise would it be if I told you?" Was all he said.
Driving, you noticed the familiar roads and landscape... The park.
You chuckled lightly. "Ash, is this the surprise?"
He giggled (wOW). "Could you be anymore impatient?"
You smiled, playing along. "Wanna bet."
He took a side glance at you, one of his hands resting on your thigh.
"With you? Never. You always win." He said in a comical way.
You smiled at him as he turned the ignition off, and were about to open the door, when Ashton slapped your hand lightly.
"No." Was all he said, and ran around the entire car, and opened the door for you.
"M'lady." He bowed.
"Thank you, kind sir," you said with a funny accent, curtsying clumsily.
He chuckled, offering you his hand, and you gladly accepted it.
You made your way to the cherry blossom tree, hand in hand, when Ashton stopped before the tree.
Taking a deep breath, and turning to face you, Ashton looked at you and took both of your hands in his.
"Ash, what -"
"Sh, just listen." He said.
He took another deep breath.
"Elena, the day I first saw you, I couldn't take my eyes off of you. You were breath-takingly beautiful, and all the guys stared." He smiled to himself, and continued. "I was just the lucky guy who got you." He squeezed your hands, and you felt tears spring into your eyes.
"You're everything I could ever want in someone. You are beautiful, smart, funny, caring, you complete me in all the best ways and I love you. So..." Now he pulled you by your hands and walked over the side of the tree, and you gasped at what you saw.
Laid out onto the grass in cherry blossom petals, was

You brought your hands to your mouth, and the tears that brimmed your eyes, threatened to fall.
"So," Ashton continued, his voice shaky. "Elena, will you do me the great honor of marrying me?" He gave you a dimpled smile, the curls on his head falling into his eyes.
It was like some scene from a movie, but it was your reality.
You shot into his arms, hugging your arms around his neck tightly, and he wrapped his arms around you.
"Yes!" You shouted. "There's no other answer for me!"
He hugged you tightly, before pulling away and taking out a camera.
Taking a smiling and emotional picture, you both were undeniably in love.
Looking at the picture, you smiled up at Ashton.
"This," you said, your voice still hoarse from the crying, "is my favorite picture of us. It's perfect."
And you kissed, and everything was indeed, perfect.
