As the sun slowly began to shine through the black clouds, the two siblings sat around a slightly injured woman as she explained herself. Carrick had been very tense since she tumbled down the stairs, his speckled emerald eyes never leaving her. Erin could have sworn he hasn't blinked since the blonde, who she learned was Holly, arrived. The story Holly was telling seemed a little farfetched, even for a couple of hunters, and yet it all made sense. Erin could basically see a halo floating majestically above this girl's head.

"Alright, let me get this straight, you're an angel?" Her brother spoke up, his hands clasped together on his lap but it was obvious he was itching to grab the firearm not even a foot away from him. The weapon had been taken away from him and placed on a nearly table so Holly wouldn't feel like she was still being attacked. Although, if looks counted, Erin's brother was giving her a killer one.

"Yes, well, archangel but you are correct. Luckily, I've heard a lot about the human culture so I am well versed in how life works down here." The former angel told them proudly.

"Yeah...Sure, we'll go with that. Can we have a moment, Holly?" Erin asked politely with a smile on her face. Carrick's hard gaze didn't leave the woman until she was in the other room, and then his attention went right to Erin.

"You better not suggest what I think you are, and the answer is no."

"Come on, Rick! This poor woman fell down a flight of stairs! The least we can do is take her back with us to dad's and he can decide what we do from there. I'm sure there's someone who can take this case for us, I don't know about you but this seems to be more important." Erin argued and kept her voice low in case Holly was listening in. Something like this would normally take a lot of begging and prodding, although the male across from her actually appeared to be considering her words. If this were a normal situation then Carrick would simply say no and maybe even try to kill the creature she was suggesting they bring with them. This was a special case, they currently had an archangel with them. Who knows when a friend like that would come in handy?

"Okay, we'll take her with us." The moment those words left her brother's mouth, Erin practically flung herself at him and crushed Carrick in a hug.

Just as the older sibling was about to pry her off, a loud clap of thunder sounded overhead. The two looked at each other, as it was particularly loud, before Holly came running in. The foundation of the house begun to shake violently and the storm turned into what sounded like a tornado, and along with a blinding flash of lightning came a figure standing by the window. By now, Carrick had placed Erin behind him in a protective manner and eyed the newcomer dangerously. Anyone who makes an entrance like that can't be good. It was a woman, tall and lean, wearing a pantsuit and heels. Her dark amber hair fell just above her shoulders in curls with a fringe swept to the side, everything about this stranger screamed professional and bossy.

"Oh, hey Ambriel! What a pleasant surprise! You didn't tell me you were – "

"Silence, traitor! You have no room to speak, your actions already tell me enough." This Ambriel woman shouted, and Holly flinched at the harsh tone used against her.

"Who are you and what's with the grand entrance?" Erin spoke up from behind her brother, trying to slide her way past him only for her path to be blocked once more. Ambriel tilted her head and turned her gaze to the two human hunters in the room, and she noted both were very young.

"Children, you are not involved in this matter. This is to be solved by Heaven, not two scrawny kids who can barely tell right from wrong." The redhead snapped at them. Great, another person who can't take a joke.

"Erin, Carrick, this is Ambriel. She was my subordinate up in Heaven. Kind of ironic now since she's most likely here to give me orders." Their new angel companion explained. There was a pause as the information sunk in and during that time Ambriel approached her former commander with a sinister aura.

"Holly, for crimes against Heaven, I have the orders to kill you. Michael himself gave me all the clearance to do so."

Wait, Michael as in the archangel? Erin didn't quite understand the problem here, and apparently Holly left out some key information when she told them her story. There had been no mention of having committed a crime and this probably wasn't the only detail left out. Still, if this was a regular angel and Holly was an archangel, a fight like this should be easy then. While Erin now had full confidence in the blonde, her brother was still skeptical.

"Oh, wait, I nearly forgot. Our brother did most of the work for me. You don't have your grace or your wings, and this makes you nothing more than an insect for me to squash."

Well, there went the last bit of hope the youngest hunter had for their friend. Just as she was about to reach for a weapon, moving ever so slowly towards it, Carrick already had his shotgun from earlier in his hands and fired twice into Ambriel. The angel simply stood there for a moment before raising a hand and having both siblings go crashing into the opposite wall. Erin got the wind knocked right out of her lungs, gasping a bit before standing back up.

"What were you thinking? You shot an angel!" she hissed softly to her brother who was regaining his composure.

"Well, what else was I supposed to do?" He shot back before scooping up the weapon again. Just before his finger even grazed the trigger, the enemy appeared right in front of him and knocked it from his hands.

"You are starting something you can't finish, stand down. Hunters like you two cause enough problems as it is and be thankful that I am sparing you. If my boss had come instead there wouldn't even be bodies for the families to mourn over." Ambriel's voice was stone cold and sent a shiver down Erin's spine with nearly every word.

"Ambriel!" a voice shouted.

Holly stood by the kitchen door, her left hand bleeding and a knife clutched in her right. On the wall was a strange symbol written in her own blood, and before another word was said she slammed her hand in the middle of the symbol. A bright light flashed and both hunters covered their eyes, and when the light had gone so was Ambriel. Whatever that thing was it definitely worked.

"Thanks by the way, for distracting her." Holly spoke up after a moment of silence, holding out the knife to Carrick. It had been the exact one he had been playing with in the kitchen, she must have grabbed it.

"No problem, but do you mind telling us what that thing was you did? I've never seen anything like it." Rick asked while taking his favorite knife back, wiping the blood off with the corner of his shirt before sheathing it.

"That, my friends, was a sigil. A banishing sigil actually and it temporarily keeps away angels from this location. They are sent somewhere else, and right now Ambriel is probably really mad." She explained before holding up her hand, "It requires blood to work, and it also weakens the angel for a bit. She will probably give up for now and go back up to Heaven. The most we have is two days before she comes back, and with help."

This wasn't good, it wasn't good at all. Not only did they have an angel after them now who wants to kill Holly but they had two days until she returns with the power to obliterate them all. Erin ran a hand through her hair, working out the knots as she thought, and Carrick simply pulled over a chair and plopped down. Two days...Two days until they die. Their father Owen probably didn't know angels existed, let alone how to kill them, and so for the first time they were left to think for themselves. Even this mission had been all planned out for them by Owen, not wanting to take any risks, and all they had to do was follow his instructions.

"Well," the brunette male began with a sigh, "Looks like we have two days to figure out how to kill an angel."
