CHAPTER FIVE

His Past Affairs

October 15, 2011. Saturday morning. Leianne woke up by the arrival of Geoffrey’s mother on the bedroom. She was followed with two maids. One was holding a breakfast tray and the other just got their laundry at the bathroom.

Mommy Farrah had greeted Leianne and sat by the bed, “Good morning, hija.”

Leianne sat down and greeted back her future mother-in-law, “Good morning, Mom. You shouldn’t have bothered bringing me breakfast in bed.”

“Well, Geoff told me that the two of you slept very late. He asked me to take good care of you. He and his father went out to play golf,” Mommy Farrah had replied. “I’m really happy that he finally decided to settle down. I’m also glad that you had convinced him to join us in watching the game of Canyan Brewers tonight.” The maid already set up the breakfast tray by her lap.

Leianne informed her future mother-in-law, “I also had asked him not to use his cane whenever he’s with me, Mom. I know what he is going through. It’s hard to go back to his old self. The accident didn’t just injured him physically it had also injured him emotionally.”

Mommy Farrah said, “At least he has you again, Lei. When he was able to walk again, he just dated for a while then he immersed himself to work. He had always spoken highly of you when you were still his physical therapist. We weren’t able to meet you personally because by the time we went to Los Angeles to visit him, you were already back here in Filipinas. He didn’t tell us your name until last week. If only we knew the two of you could have met sooner. We should have not set him up on blind dates.”

Leianne cut in, “Mom, thank you for accepting me right away.”

Mommy Farrah replied, “Having you is like having my son back, Lei. For a while, we thought he would never ever want to marry. You’re a very loving person. I’m really glad that my son had chosen well.”

Leianne promised, “I’ll do my best to become a good wife to him, Mom. I will need your help too.”

Mommy Farrah smiled and said, “You’ll have my support. Well, I’ll leave you now. If you still want to rest after breakfast, please do so. George and Geoff will be back by lunch time. I’m just usually at the orchidarium if you need me.” Mommy Farrah stood up.

“Thanks, Mom,” Leianne replied. His mother then left the room.

After breakfast, she had taken a shower and changed into much casual clothing. She dressed up into white lace bra and panty, dark raspberry shirt, white shorts and white thongs sandals. Then she joined Mommy Farrah at the orchidarium.

They talked more about Geoffrey – his  favorites, hobbies, likes and dislikes.

Geoffrey and his father arrived for lunch. Leianne and Mommy Farrah were at the living room. Geoffrey kissed his mother’s forehead and Leianne’s lips when they arrived.

Geoffrey even teased his mother  as he sat beside Leianne and extended her right arm around her shoulders, “Has Mom been good to you?”

His mother smiled. It had been a long while since Geoffrey did that, “Of course, I have been very good to her. I don’t want her to have a change of heart.”

His father added, “We like you very much, Lei. We’re very glad that Geoff had chosen you to be his wife.”

Leianne replied with a smile on her face, “Thanks, Mom, Dad. And I wouldn’t have a change of heart. It feels great to have a complete family. Thanks for accepting me as part of it.”
