CHAPTER FOUR

The Beginning

When they reached the Torres Ancestral Mansion in Gobol City, Leianne was settled into Geoffrey’s bedroom.

They were left alone in the bedroom. They sat by the loveseat by the foot of the bed facing the big LED TV by the wall. They talked as they watched the late night news.

She asked, “When were you able to walk again?”

“On my thirtieth birthday,” he answered.

“So it has been almost two years,” she calculated.

“Yeah. I had looked for you since then but I didn’t succeed. I didn’t know how to contact you. With those six months that we had known each other, I wasn’t able to know more of you personally. We haven’t talked much of your family. All I knew was that your parents were divorced, you have a brother and your grandparents live in Wallori City, Canyan. There are just so many Villars in Canyan. It was only last week that Lola Laureana contacted my parents again after your grandfather’s death. My parents and your father even set up a blind date for me and Leilani. It was then that I had confirmed that you’re Leilani’s half sister,” he imparted.

She responded, “I really haven’t gone out much. I focused on helping out Ian. I have to be beside him almost all the time because of his disorder. Have you told your management team about him?”

He elaborated to her, “Yeah, I told them what to expect. The management team is composed of a male corporate lawyer, a female financial analyst and a female executive assistant/ secretary. They know what to do. I also assigned three bodyguards for him. One of them will look after him incognito.”

The news about their wedding engagement then was announced in MGA Channel 8.

She was surprised. She asked him, “How did they know?”

“I used to work for MGA Channel 8. Rob is a good friend of mine. Philip, his brother-in-law is a friend of mine as well. Irene, Rob’s sister and Philip’s wife, wants to have an exclusive news on it so I had agreed,” he told her.

She asked him then, “Are you sure about marrying me, Geoff?”

“I’m very much sure, Lei,” he looked into her beautiful eyes and assured her.

She wanted to point out something, “But…”

He knew she wanted to point out the physical aspect of their relationship. They hadn’t explored on it before but he was sure the physical attraction was there so he stopped her from speaking and claimed her mouth for a torrid kiss. He felt her responding to his kiss without restraint.

She just found herself responding willingly to his kiss. She wanted to point out the physical aspect of their relationship. They hadn’t kissed before. What they had was more of the emotional and intellectual connection. She finished the kiss, “Just when I was to point out the absence of physical attraction between us, you already made sure there is.”

He told her, “We’re adults, Lei. I didn’t make any physical advances on you in the past because I valued our connection so much. Although I felt we were already physically attracted to one another before.”

She asked him then, “Will you be staying here for the night?”

He asked her back, “Will you want me to stay?”

She smiled, “Answer my question, Geoff.”

He smiled and answered, “I wish to stay but I know you feel it’s too soon for that. I usually stay in my penthouse in Victoria Condominiums here in Gobol. We’ll stay there once we’re married. I have a maid, a driver and my three-man security team staying there with me. But for the meantime, you have to stay here.”
