CHAPTER FOURTEEN

Wish Fulfilled

When Tito Fernando found out that Leianne was helping out Alyanna recover from the tragic accident, he requested to meet her.

Leianne visited her uncle. Daddy Damian was also present. Tito Fernando was tearful when he asked Leianne’s forgiveness and expressed his gratitude.

“Kuya and I had been so selfish. Just to get back with Papa and Mama, we planned on unimaginable things. We tried to kill Mama though poisoning. We planned on killing your mother through the car accident,” Tito Fernando had confessed.

Daddy Damian added, “We even abducted Adelle to extort money. We were also behind Ian’s first shooting incident because we wanted the full control over the company, ruin it and just take the money,”

Leianne was so shocked by their revelations. She still manages to say, “The two of you are now paying for your crimes. I think that’s enough punishment. The company is already stable.”

Tito Fernando asked her forgiveness, “I hope you can forgive us for all the wrongs that we had done.”

Leianne imparted, “I have no anger or hatred in my heart, Tito, Dad. I did what I can to fulfill Lolo’s wish. In the letter he wrote before he died, he asked me to reunite the family. He also said that if I couldn’t reunite the family then I just had to take care and protect Lola, Tita Adelle, Mommy, Ian and the company from the two of you. I didn’t sell myself to Geoffrey just like what you had assumed to save the company from the verge of bankruptcy when the two of you had embezzled millions of money from it. Geoffrey just provided the trustworthy management team to investigate on the scam you had pulled. He also provided reliable security team to protect me and the family. We really had a past when I was still in Los Angeles. I don’t need his money to rehabilitate the company because I’m earning millions as Gabrielle Ruiz.”

Her father was surprised, “You’re the famous writer and illustrator of children’s storybooks?”

Leianne nodded in approval, “I have the money but I don’t have the capacity to protect the company and the family. I needed strength from Geoffrey to go on with my battles with the two of you. We all have been suspecting the two of you to be behind all those threats to our lives. Geoffrey didn’t know much about my past. He just found out that I was the Leianne he had been searching for all those years when Leilani had mentioned me on their blind date at the same time that Lola contacted his parents to invite them on her birthday and to ask them for some pieces of advice. When he had confirmed that it was me, he immediately proposed marriage and I accepted. All the death threats and the scam had somehow worn me down, I needed the protection and the affection Geoffrey was offering me. Other than Ian and Lolo, he is the only man that I fully trust.”

Daddy Damian stated, “You had grown up to be a very wonderful woman, Lei. I was blind not to see your sincerity before. I had been an irresponsible father to you. Despite all our faults, you’re still able to help our families.”

Tito Fernando added, “Thank you for taking care of my wife and my daughter, Lei.”

Leianne then responded, “You still both have a long way to bear here at the penitentiary. But be assured that I will take care of Tita Emily, Tita Alicia, Alyanna, Leilani and her child. I’ll help them learn how to survive even without my help in the future.”     

Her father and her uncle hugged her warmly. She knew then that they already accepted their faults.

Daddy Damian and Tito Fernando were also able to ask forgiveness from Lola Laureana, Mommy Estela, Tita Adelle, Ian, Penelope, Geoffrey and all the families of the innocent lives who had perished in their attempts to execute their revenge because of their deep seated jealousy and anger toward their parents and only sister.
