(Edited Chapter ! Feel free to read. The song for this chapter is "All For Love" by Madison Beer.)

Tuesday morning, two weeks later, I woke up with a sore throat and a banging head. I felt sick to my stomach and couldn't move a limb. Grabbing my phone to have a look at the time, I unlocked it to see it was against 7 am. A groan escaped my lips. Out of all days I had to get sick that day. I had an important exam which I really wanted to attend so that I could finally leave it behind me and wait for the results in peace. I had been working my ass off for that exam these past two weeks. Countless papers and books were scattered on my desk. Day and night I had studied with Grace and Nathan. We even hired a tutor for the weekend. I was more than ready to take the exam. And what happens ? I get sick. I get freaking sick. This couldn't be real. Dragging myself out of bed with all of my energy, I practically crawl to the bathroom. In hope that I wouldn't feel as bad as I was feeling in the meanwhile after I have taken a warm relaxing shower, I strip down my pajamas and step into the shower. To my utter surprise I seem to at least not feel like I am dying. Quickly changing into my favorite pair of thick leggings and my coziest sweatshirt, I gather my books and put them in my backpack. Jogging down the stairs and into the kitchen I open a drawer where we keep all our medication. I search for something for my sore throat. Unsuccessfully. Deciding that a warm chamomile tea might help, I turn on our water boiler and grab a mug. Just as my tea was done my mom came into the kitchen.

"Someone's up early. You usually wake up half an hour before school" she commented with a playful grin, as she walked over to the refrigerator.

"My exam is today. I wanted to go over everything before school" I honestly admitted.

"Are you sick ? Your voice sounds husky" mom asked, turning to me with a concerned look.

"No" I lied in fear of her not letting me go to school.

"Are you sure ? All colour has drained from your face. You are pale" she said, walking over to me and grabbing my chin to turn my face to her. "You are sick."

"Mom, I am fine honestly" I pressed, turning my head away from her.

"I can't let you go to school in a state like this" she said, leaning against the counter.

"Yes, you can and you will because I got an important exam today. There's no way I will be missing it" I told her, whereupon she heaved a sigh.

"You won't even be able to concentrate. How do you suppose you will take that exam ?" she asked with a raised eyebrow.

"I am perfectly fine and healthy. And I am able to concentrate so no worries."

"You can take the exam some other day" she said.

"Mom !" Didn't she understand that I couldn't bear a day longer with all those books in my room. I need to take this exam.

"Destiny no arguing. You're staying in and I am taking you to a doctor."

"You have to go to work !" I protested.

Well, that was actually a fair deal and wouldn't actually mind coming home earlier.

"Deal" I said, smiling. She rolled her eyes but eventually smiled back at me pulling me in for a hug.

"I will drop you off at the doctors and then leave for work" she told me and I nodded my head in agreement. I would have declined her offer but it was freezing outside and I was sick. It is okay to be a little selfish in situations like this.

"But before we leave we gotta have breakfast" she sing-sang and turned to the refrigerator once again.
