Let me just say that this is my first time ever writing anything related to romance or cute stuff so I might not be good at writing those scenes. So this is probably going to have a really slow build up but I have a wonderful plot that I think you people might like.
Also the cover is done by yours truly! Me!! I might switch it up if I have any inspiration.
Hope you enjoy it!
_____________________________Things could not have been more annoying than today. Apparently my old man, who hates me by the way, decided that I start school next Monday. That means I have only four days of complete freedom until I'm forced to go somewhere I don't want to go to and learn useless subjects that I'll never use in my entire life. Well, I guess almost three days now that it's dark and I can barely see in front of me had it not been for the street lights.
I can still remember the news like it was nothing.
*Earlier*
I walked down the hall to the kitchen of the small house me and my old man were resorted to live in after everything that happened.
I noticed he was sleeping, despite that it was mid-afternoon, in front of the tv so I sneaked my way to the fridge and opened it.
I made myself a ham sandwich as quietly as possible, I was so worried he would wake up. Sure he's sober now but I eyed the beer bottles that littered the area around his comfy recliner and became uncomfortable in even being in the same room as him.
As soon as my sandwich was made I quietly put the materials back in the fridge. I made my way to my bedroom but I heard a grunt. My step-dad mumbled my name and I had no choice but to walk in the alcohol scented living room.
I rolled my eyes as I turned to face the man that seemed to have made my life horrible but somehow he still wanted to care about me. He was well into his late forties, with blackish grey hair and dull blue eyes. He wore his clothes from yesterday, blue greased up jeans as well as a dirty black t-shirt. He was also a little chunky around the stomach area. He worked at a garage further into the city so he was always coming home late, or not at all.
"Y-yes," I said as I approached him. He didn't seem angry at all, just tired.
"You're going to school on Monday," he replied and reached to drink another beer bottle but found it was empty. "You can go now."
I didn't need to be told twice. I scurried to my room and snuck out through the window. Normally my attitude would tell anyone that I didn't like to be told what to do, but I don't want to argue with my step-dad. He has quite the temper on him.
*Now*
In truth, I don't want to go to school or get a career, I'm perfectly fine stealing money to earn my way around. In fact it's really easy and I don't have to go to a boring school. It's what I've been doing since I moved to this little section of the city, I was about ten I think. So I resorted to living out on the streets and doing almost anything for money. But there's a limit at how far I'll go to get it.
"Hey there, you look lost." Some random guy said. I must have wandered in an alley again. Damn, I always lose myself in my thoughts. Sometimes I just walk and stand in the middle of parks or sidewalks just thinking. And even then I barely notice what's going on around me. Dammit I'm doing it again!
"Huh?" I say back. "What are you talking about? I live around here." I put my hands into fists and placed them on my hips. Clearly the man didn't get a good look at me because he became nervous at my confidence and how I talked like I was threatening him.
