(Gavin's POV)
I walked in to the large field of grass with Ray and Jack by my side, but I constantly tried to get closer to Michael who was standing in front of me to my left. People sitting in the stadium stood up and cheered, and I heard some of them call my name. I looked up at them as I smiled and waved. It looked like there were a few more people than at the week before's Let's Play.
Geoff tapped on the microphone attached to his halo skin helmet and quietly said "hello" in to it, calming everyone down.
"What's up guys! We're here with Jack, Michael, Ray, Ryan, and Gavin," He continued. I made a whooping noise when I heard my name, immediately followed by Ray yelling "LET'SSS PLAYY!"
"That's right," Geoff said with a laugh. "Now for this one we've done something pretty creative and I want to give a shout out to Michael's wife, Lindsay, who helped me out a lot on it."
People cheered as Lindsay stood up from the audience, and she began to bow in her penguin skin. Michael looked up at her and blew her a kiss, but I didn't think she was able to see it. I was the only one who complained about their PDA, and when I did the other guys would tell me it wasn't that bad. That seemed completely absurd to me. I felt like they could never get enough of each other, and I got mad when she teased me that I was just jealous. Lindsay was alright though and I supposed she was good for Michael.
"So as you can see," Geoff continued as he pointed at the large stone building behind him. "We've got a big dark building full of monsters. There are several entrances with signs above them. The signs say things like 'wooden sword' or 'pork chops' which resemble the prize you will win for defeating whatever monsters are in that room. You can find your prize probably in the back of the room in a chest. The prizes will keep getting better and better, but the monsters will keep getting harder. Each room will lead you to one or more rooms, unless it's a dead end. The purpose of this game is to get to the winner's room and defeat whatever mob might be in there."
"Ok sounds good," Jack said as the others nodded.
"So can we go in the same entrance as others?" Michael asked as he looked over at me and made eye contact.
"Uhhh ya sure but, I mean, only the person who kills the mob will get the prize."
"Okay."
"Any more questions?"
Everyone was silent and I shook my head steadily.
"Okay then, everyone just line up behind this nice red wool line I made for you and you can begin."
As we lined up Geoff climbed a flight of stairs to the top of the stone building and turned to face us. He looked and smiled at the audience one last time before saying "Ready? Set? GO!"
And then I ran. At first I was going for the one in the center towards the right, but Ryan was also going for that one. It was weird watching him run like that, maybe just because it was weird seeing him at all. It felt like he only ever came out of his house for the Let's Plays unlike everyone else in Achievement Hunter. We would all usually hang out at Geoff's house or go swimming when we had free time.
I ended up going through the entrance with the sign that said "watermelon" by my self, even though I thought a weapon should have been a bigger priority. As I came face to face with the villager in the room I began to laugh.
"I got a fucking squid!" Michael said as he chuckled along with me.
Jack and Ray began to argue about going through the same entrance. "I was here first!" Ray said, putting on his silly 3rd grader voice as a joke.
