JUNE'S P.O.V:

I had a concert hangover.

Except I didn't go to a concert.

I had a Tristan hangover.

After a minute I till didn't know where to go or what to do.

This had been the first time I met Tris and I knew I was overreacting, just a tad. But I seriously didn't know what to do with my life for a moment.

Checking my phone didn't help either.

I decided to walk out of the Tibet station and look around, my eyes landed on Waterstones and I walked to the shop.

The Young Adult section was upstairs, so I climes up the steps in a daze.

A bright yellow caught my eye as soon as I reached my section, Eleanor & Park.

It had a 'Buy one, get one half price' - sticker on it, so I picked up another Rainbow Rowell book, Fangirl.

With my Waterstones bag in my hand I headed towards Oxford Street again, there were still a few shops I wanted to go to, but I hadn't wanted to drag Tristan along with me.

I stopped at Forever 21, Urban Outfitters and picked up a few things from Primark.

The sun started to set early as it was only February, I realised I wanted to watch the sunset with Tristan.

What a stupid thought.

I pulled out my phone and texted my dad, asking him where he was, so we could go and get some dinner as I was starving.

He replied quickly, saying that he and Amelia were in HMV.

I smiled down at my phone as I was more than happy to go back there, I just loved browsing through their selection of CDs and DVDs.

My dad found me as soon as I stepped  through the entrance and hugged me.

"Yeah, I'm still alive." I sighed, trying to wriggle out of my dad's grasp as we were in a public area and blocking the entrance, plus we were getting some strange looks.

"June," my dad said sternly, "You have to understand that Amelia and I couldn't help but be slightly worried as you hadn't actually met the guy before."

"Tristan." I said.

"What?"

"His name is Tristan." I clarified.

"I am well aware of his name June, that's beside the point."

I loved my dad and I completely understood where he was coming from, but it still bugged me that he wasn't trusting my judgement.

"Did you find anything you like June?" Amelia asked, coming up behind me, "Oh, I already came here earlier with Tristan." I replied, relieved to have brought the conversation with my dad to an end.

"Okay, then I'll go pay." she said, turning around, "Um, hey June?"

"Yeah?" I asked.

"Isn't that that Tristan guy?" I followed her eyes and saw Tristan Maxted standing at the check-out.

A part of me wanted to hide, because seeing him again so soon was going to be awkward.

My parents didn't really leave me a choice to so that though, "Hello Tristan." my step-mum said, walking over to him.

"Oh hi." Tris said, turning to face her, "Hey June."

"Hey." I softly answered.

God, that was lame.

I tried to regain some of my honour by trying to make conversation: "Didn't you already buy that one?" I pointed at the McFly CD I saw him buying earlier.

"I bought the wrong one, this one," He held up the new CD, "has two disks. I didn't want to drag you all the way back here just because I stupidly bought the wrong version."

He thought the same way I did, I noticed.

"I wouldn't have minded," I said, "I love HMV."

Then the silence kicked in again.

We had grown a lot closer since this morning, but we hadn't been able to completely get rid of all the silences though.

At least they weren't as awkward as before, but they weren't as nice as the silences you had with your best friends either, when you don't feel like you have to say anything, but now I was frantically looking for a way to keep this small talk going.

I didn't want Tris to walk away again. Not yet at least.

Suddenly my dad piped up: "I have an idea. June, you were right, I don't know Tristan."

"I never said that."

"But it was what you meant. And now I want to say I'm sorry because I didn't try to listen. Tristan, would you maybe like to join us for dinner?"

I couldn't believe that my dad just proposed that.

"I don't know..." Tris replied, and there went the fuzzy feeling.

All I wanted in that moment was for Tristan to say yes, but I didn't want to be annoying by pushing him.

"Oh come on Tristan, why not?" Amelia asked.

I could see the hesitation in Tristan's eyes, but a smile appeared on his face anyway, "Okay," he caved, "I'll go to dinner with you guys."

"We're having dinner at Wagamama, do you know it?" I asked, "I've heard of it."

Before I could tell him that it was a Japanese chain that mainly did noodles the cashier told us to hurry up and keep the line moving.

We quickly paid for our items and hurried out of the shop/

"So, did you kids have a fun time today?" my step-mum asked while we walked down the street to a bus stop.

"Amelia, don't." I whined and Tris started to laugh.

"What?" I asked, "Nothing." he said, grinning. I shook my head.

This might not be as bad or as awkward as I had first anticipated, at least, I hoped it wouldn't be.

"Tristan, tell us about this band of yours." my dad inquired.

"Well, there are four of us: Mike, Rich, Nathan and me. By making covers on Youtube we were found by our manager, Patrick Wolfe, who has been helping us promote our band. And currently we're trying to hopefully get a record deal."

"Record deal?" I asked, surprised, "You didn't tell us that."

Tris smiled, "We didn't want to get your hopes up."

I looked down at my shoes, of course they didn't tell us, we didn't need to know about everything that was going on in their lives.

"We didn't have any luck in that department though." Tristan continued, "Yet." my dad added, making Tris smile even more.

When Tristan and I would part ways after dinner for the second time , I truly hoped we'd be friends and stay in touch. In that moment I didn't care about the fact that today was technically a date, all I wanted was to be Tristan's friend and not just another fan.
