"So, you're saying that you don't love me?" Brent said as tears were ran down his face. "And whatever we had us just means nothing?"
"Brent, I've told you a million times and again I tell you that you'll always be my love. No matter what." you said holding his shoulders with in of your shaking hands and tears simultaneously rushing out.
"Then why? Why you chose me over him? Why?" Brent said looking into your eyes, but you couldn't look back. "Tell me WHY?" he almost yelled.
"Just because..." you moved a step backwards. "...beacsuse it's too late already... Brent.... I cannot do this to my- to my family, to all the people that have gathered here and most of all to Kristen..." you said.
"I know, you love him more than you love me.. I know because- because you used to look at me the way you look at HIM." he looked down.
"I know this is the biggest mistake of my life but, but some changes are irreversible just like this one... I cannot..."
"Y/N, I always dreamt of seeing you like this, in a white wedding dress with all these beautiful things on it but as my wife... not his." Brent said wiping those tears off his face.
You glanced at your dress for once, 'THIS IS THE BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE!' you thought but couldn't do anything about it.
You always thought that all those dejected endings were untrue but today, you realised you were wrong!
"Anyway, I don't think so we can really do anything now... It's better you go, you're getting late..." Brent said which his eyes still puffy.
"Brent, I love you." you said engulfing him in a hug for the one last time. But his reply was silence.
You pulled out and started to walk away, but as your reached towards the door, you felt that your dress got stuck to the handle. You tried to get it out but you couldn't.
Brent approached you and got it out. But he didn't look at you, his eyes were almost closed to avoid eye contact. For the first and the last time you saw the preciousness his face possessed. It was his simplicity that made him who he was.
"You'll find someone better than me..." you said.
"Not really sure about that..."
