A Vampire's Wish

Prologue

A yellow blur dashed around the trees, leaves being left behind as the blast of air surrounded the forest. The trees' branches covered with leaves opened way for the blur. The speed makes the trees look shocked. Zig-zag around the trees, arms straight out behind and tails' in full spin, moving like a helicopter blade.

Tails is taking his usual morning flight in Leaf forest. Sonic wasn't there running with with him though, that was because he woke up sick and knowing Amy correct, she would keep him home until he gets better.

Meanwhile. Tails didn't want to look at his sick friend all day, so he ran outside to take a short flight. If you have time to worry, then run, Sonic always say. With or without Sonic, taking a morning flight is still fun, but the fox couldn't shake off an uncomfortable feeling.

Therefore, he decided to take a short break. He stopped spinning his tails around and landed on the soft grass. "Phew! That was the longest morning flight I have ever done alone!" He stretched as he leaned against an oak tree. The birds singing, a warm spring breeze brushed his bangs. Everything is so silent. It's comfortable and relaxing. A yawn escaped Tails' mouth as his eyes slid shut. "I'll take a short nap before running back to Sonic..." Tails mumbled to himself before falling asleep.

A bush moved as a person snuck out from under the leaves, looking at the golden fox. A smirk forming as he licked his lips. "Easy catch~"

Tails gasped and shot his eyes open, feeling a sharp pain in his neck. Someone behind him cought his eye. Razor sharp teeth digged down his neck as blood ran down from the wound. Tails tried to stand up and run away, but there is no use. The person grabbed his arms, pinning him down on the ground. Tails is unable to move or get away alone. He moved and shouted with all his might, hoping help would arrive. The pain from the bite made Tails feel weak, the world swirled around him, his golden colored fur faded to a darker shade and his screaming stopped. Tails' body fell limp on the ground and the teeth left his skin, but the pain remained.
"W-why..?" Tails managed to breathe out.

The boy looked at him with a smirk on his face, licking his lips clean of blood. He bent down to Tails' ear. "Because I was hungry~ Enjoy what you have left of your normal life~" The boy vanished in the blink of an eye, leaving Tails behind, scared and confused. Tears fell from his eyes as they closed shut. From the ground, he could hear thumping. Everything turned black as he could hear people running toward him.

"Tails? Tails, wake up!" Tails fluttered his eyes open, feeling something soft and confortable beneath him. Everything around him looked like a blur. As he groaned, his breathing felt trapped, an oxygen mask is placed on him, covering his mouth and nose. Tails had to blink a couple of times to get his regular vision back.

"Tails? Are you ok buddy?" A worried voice spoke from his right. Tails turned his head slowly to the side, looking at a blue hedgehog sitting in a chair beside his bed. "Miles Prower, uh Tails. How are you feeling?" A  grey, female wolf, dressed in a white coat asked. Tails laid his hand on his head, groaning as he did so. "I-I am not sure..."

"You didn't look so well when I found you, laying on the ground and your neck bleeding. What happend to ya?" Sonic asked simply, but with worry in his voice. Tails shook his head to figure out what happened, but everything was in a blur.
'Why do I have pain in my head, but not my neck?' Tails thought. He only shrugged as an answer to his friend.
"Hm.." The grey female fox looked like to be in deep thought. Tails' ears perked up to her voice, she looked suspicious.
"I hope you get better soon Tails. I have to leave now, but I'll come and visit you tomorrow, okay?" Sonic asked. Tails only nodded as an answer, Sonic gave him a thumbs up before running out of the room. "No running!" The doctor shouted after Sonic, Tails only chuckled. The wolf looked at him and asked Tails to sit down. "Don't worry, I am just taking a small bloodtest, just to make sure you are ok" She smiled and slowly slid the tip of the syringe inside Tails' arm and took a little of his blood. "There, eat this chocolate to get your bloodsugar up" She smiled and gave him a small chocolate bar and left him alone.

Tails turned around in bed yet again. In the middle of the night, Tails couldn't sleep, he tries his best, but it isn't enough. He slid his hand over the bandage wrapped around his neck, feeling the healing wound. "Why did he bite me...?" During the night, his memory came back. At least some of it. He sighed and sat up, rubbing his eyes. "Maybe I should just walk around for a short while... I am not sleepy anyways" Tails dragged off the duvet and stood on the floor,walking over to the window for some fresh air.  As he opened the window, all types of different scents filled his nose. It startled him and he stepped a little back. He could scent someone grilling down on the beach, someone's car on fire and many other things.

Looking slowly up, he saw the moon. His eyes got glued to the light that surrounded it. He felt strange, groaning as the pain left his head and to his while body. His fur changed from golden to a pale orange, two of his teeth grew in lenght, and Tails collapsed on the ground of fright. 'What is happening?!'  The little fox teeth he had grew to fangs, his eyes changed color, the irises got thinner. As he looked up at the moon with his new look, he panted. Wanting something. From this moment on, Tails' life will be changed forever.

"Blood..."
