Areum's POV

"Ooooohhhhhhhhh!!!"

My best friend, Jessi, squealed like a firework display as she frantically scrolled through something on her phone.

Her excitement was palpable, but it was testing my patience, especially since she had already interrupted my engrossing fan fiction of Seventeen.

"Shut up, will ya?" I grumbled, tossing a pillow in her direction, only for her to effortlessly dodge it. "What's got you so worked up, anyway?" I frowned and reluctantly set my phone aside.

A beaming smile spread across Jessi's face, causing a temporary blindness that compelled me to shield my eyes dramatically. Well, not really, but you get the idea.

"Seventeen just moved into their brand-new dorm! And guess what? Jisoo is rooming with Seungkwan and Hoshi or something," she gushed, speaking at warp speed, making it difficult for me to comprehend her words—except for the part where she mentioned Seventeen.

"Repeat that, young lady! Repeat!" I scooted closer to her, eager to get all the juicy details.

Glancing at her phone, I saw she was deep in the depths of Seventeen's official Twitter, indulging in her usual stalking session.

I read the recent tweet from Seventeen's staff, confirming their relocation to a new dormitory.

"They didn't mention the address, did they?" I asked, glancing at Jessi, who shook her head, sighing in frustration. "I don't think so," she replied dejectedly.

Jessi and I had been devoted fans of Seventeen since their debut during the Adore U era. This incredible group comprised a delightful mix of talented, goofy, and stunning boys.

Although Jessi and I lived in the same city as Seventeen, our paths had never crossed in real life. They were always jetting off to various locations, their schedules jam-packed, while Jessi and I were stuck in the relentless reality called school.

We attended the Seoul School of Performing Arts, a prestigious institution teeming with idols, aspiring idols, and individuals connected to the idol world.

Wonwoo and Seokmin were both seniors at our school, but they had already graduated, and we never had the fortune to catch even a glimpse of them around campus.

I know, sad life.

"Yah, I think I have to head home," Jessi playfully poked my forehead, signaling her departure. I nodded, understanding that our Seventeen-filled escapade had reached its end.

She donned her coat, and I accompanied her to the front door of my humble apartment.

"Bye," she waved, her excitement still radiating from her every pore as she turned and made her way to the bustling main streets.

I returned inside and retreated to my room, relishing in the quiet solitude. But the lingering echoes of Seventeen's melodies in my mind compelled me to play their latest song, 'Pretty U,' on full blast through the speakers.

The music flooded the room, engulfing me in an auditory storm. The volume cranked up to the maximum, ensuring every nook and cranny of my apartment resonated with the vibrant beats.

Lost in the intoxicating rhythm, I surrendered myself to the song, dancing and twirling with unbridled enthusiasm. My voice, which I knew was far from exceptional, joined in, carrying the lyrics in a not-so-melodious harmony.

"Hal mari manheunde

jeongriga jal andwae

dowajwo S.O.S"

As I swayed to the music, caught up in the moment, I abruptly froze, my body stiffening with surprise. There it was—the sound of another voice, seamlessly blending with mine. I swiftly turned around, my eyes wide with shock.

Moments ago, I had been convinced I was entirely alone in the house. My parents were out of town, and the neighboring house remained vacant, its previous tenants having relocated a week earlier.

My singing ceased, allowing me to focus solely on the mysterious voice that had synchronized so flawlessly with mine. Its familiarity struck a chord within me, reminding me of a certain member of Seventeen featured in the song.

But was it truly him?

The song neared its end, yet the voice persisted, confidently serenading the remaining lines. The lyrics, the melody, the notes—every aspect was executed flawlessly, a symphony of perfection.

Curiosity now devouring me whole, I found myself climbing onto my balcony, inching closer to the neighboring one. Perhaps a fellow Seventeen fan resided there?

My foot hovered precariously over the threshold when the neighboring door swung open, revealing a figure whose presence elicited a startled shriek. I froze, struck dumb by the sight before me.

"Fuck!" the voice that had sung so beautifully moments ago now exclaimed, the curse slipping out as the owner of the voice laid eyes on me.

"H-Hong Jisoo?!" I stammered, my mind struggling to process the incredible reality unfolding before me.

He gulped, his eyes locked with mine, his own surprise mirrored in their depths.

"H-Hi," he awkwardly greeted, his voice carrying a blend of uncertainty and something akin to relief.

"Hyung! What took you so long?!" Suddenly, another familiar voice emerged from behind him.

It was Dino, the youngest member of Seventeen.

"Jisoo-ya! You never mentioned that you were expecting a friend," Jeonghan chimed in, peering over Joshua's shoulder. His eyes widened in astonishment as they landed upon me.

"Uhm, Jisoo? You didn't tell me you had company," Jeonghan remarked, his gaze shifting between Joshua and me.

"Me neither," Joshua replied, his attention now solely on me.

My jaw practically hit the floor.

Shit!

Seventeen is living right next door!
