SORRY FOR THE LONG WAIT EVERYONE! HOW'S LIFE?
***
Areum's POV
"Are you joking with me?"
Jessi's voice rang out in disbelief, her eyes wide with astonishment. The cozy atmosphere of the bakery cafe couldn't contain her excitement as she processed the incredible news I had just shared.
Unwilling to let her enthusiastic outburst disrupt the peace, I quickly covered her mouth, attempting to muffle her screeches of joy. "Shh! Keep it down, Jessi! We don't need everyone in here to know," I pleaded, my eyes darting around the bustling cafe.
Her muffled laughter vibrated against my hand, but she finally managed to regain her composure. The glimmer in her eyes, however, betrayed her overwhelming excitement.
"Wait, so you're saying we'll be camping out with SEVENTEEN?!" she exclaimed, her voice brimming with incredulity. It was as if the very idea of spending time with her favorite idol group was too good to be true.
I couldn't help but share in her excitement. My heart raced, matching the pace of my thoughts. SEVENTEEN, the group that had become an integral part of my life, was about to embark on an adventure with us.
"Huang Jessi!" I whispered, my tone filled with both admonishment and amusement. Her eyes sparkled with mischief as she finally quieted down, seemingly savoring the clandestine nature of our discussion.
"Will this be during the family day?" Jessi asked, her gaze filled with understanding. She had been there for me through thick and thin, aware of the difficulties my family had faced. The loss of our dear Chanyoung had pushed me to the brink of despair, and it was Jessi's unwavering support that had pulled me back from the edge.
I was eternally grateful for her presence in my life, and the thought of losing her sent a chill down my spine. It was a reminder of the darkness we had once faced together, the fear that threatened to engulf us.
"No, it's not during the family day," I replied, my voice tinged with a mix of relief and sadness. The memories of those trying times still lingered, a reminder of the fragile balance we had managed to restore.
Jessi's eyes softened with empathy, her hand reaching across the table to squeeze mine gently. It was a silent reassurance, a reminder that we had both come a long way from the depths of our darkest moments.
"This is truly a dream come true, Areum-ah," Jessi whispered, her voice filled with awe and a hint of tears. The bakery's warm ambiance seemed to embrace our shared sentiment, offering solace and comfort in the face of overwhelming emotions.
A bittersweet smile tugged at the corners of my lips as I nodded in agreement. The journey that lay ahead promised unforgettable memories and precious moments of laughter and joy. It was a chance to create new narratives, to overcome the shadows of our past.
As we sat in the cozy bakery, surrounded by the aroma of freshly baked pastries and the hushed conversations of patrons, the weight of our past struggles seemed to lift, if only for a moment. The future, once clouded with uncertainty, now held the promise of hope and happiness.
Indeed, it was too good to be true.
Yet, here we were, on the cusp of an extraordinary adventure, ready to embark on a journey that would forever shape our lives. And as the sun cast a warm glow upon our faces, I couldn't help but believe that, against all odds, we were destined for something truly magical.
