In which a shy and quiet former student from Beauxbatons Academy of Magic, get transfered to Hogwarts to start her sixth year. Suffering from the traumatic attack on her and her father, the very same attack which lead to her fathers death, only leav...
Danique carried the owl cage in her right hand while she was holding her wand in the other one. She looked at her Uncle, watching the different emotions in his eyes as he almost seemed to try convince himself that she would be fine here. She plastered a tiny smile on her lips in an attempt to calm him down. "I am going to be more than fine here, Uncle Sam." She said in a calm voice, hoping that the tone of her voice would smitten him.
Danique looked away from her Uncle as she heard a chuckle behind them, turning around she saw Albus Dumbledore standing there.
"I take that as you're Ms. Fors?" The old man said with a smile on his lips. He looked at her Uncle and said, "And don't you worry Mr. Finn, I will make sure that she will be treated as any other Hogwarts student."
Uncle Sam seemed to calm down a little as he heard what the Headmaster said. "I didn't mean to offend you in any way, Sir. But during the circumstances I can't help but worry." Samuel said with a polite smile. Dumbledore just shook his head with a happy smile on his lips. "None taken."
Danique silently sighed when Uncle Sam brought up "the circumstances." Meaning the attack towards her father and her, the same attack which lead to her fathers death. She was tired of hearing about it, constantly being asked if she was fine, or catching her Uncle to look at her with his eyes full of worry. Obviously she was fine, she wasn't the one laying in a coffin several meters underneath the ground.
She was brought back into reality when Dumbledore clapped his hands together, looking at the two of them. "The welcoming dinner is soon about to start, would you like to come with me to my office so we can put that owl of yours down?" He asked Danique.
Danique looked at Dumbledore for a second only to nodd as an answer. "Oh, yes. She is not a big fan of being caged." Danique said and looked down at the very bitter owl.
She then looked up at her Uncle before approaching him with a hug. "I will be fine." She quietly laughed when he hugged her a little bit too tight. "Oh, I know Q. You will be home for Christmas, yeah?" He asked, letting her go. Danique nodded with a reasuring smile. He lightly patted her on the head before taking a step backwords.
Dumbledore looked at her with raised eyebrows, as a way of asking her if she was ready to get going. She put a forced smile on her face as an answer.
"Great, then follow me Ms. Fors." He said all excited, starting to walk down the corridor they had been standing in. "I just have to say that we're very excited to welcome you here in our school, Fors." He said, not too long after they had started walking.
Danique glanced at the old man before nodding her head. "Yeah, I can't imagine that you've had that many students from Beauxbatons here." She said, trying to hide the pain in her voice. She was constantly reminded of what had happened only a little over a month ago. As much as she would like to forget about it all, it seemed to come backto haunt her as often as it could.
Dumbledore lightly chuckled looking straight at her. "No, not on permanent stay, no." He said before opening the door to his office.
She mumbled a quiet thank you before she entered his office. She let her gaze wander around his office for a few seconds, before her gaze landed on the rest of her stuff which had been sent here yesterday evening. She walked over, putting the cage down onto the floor. "Just a little more, I promise." She whispered to the owl who refused to even look at her.
"Your stuff will be put in the girls dorm later on, depending on which house you get sorted into." He said with a smile. "I will make sure your owl will be let out as soon as possible." He reasured her.
Danique chuckled. "Thank you, Sir."

As the sorting ceremony had started, all of the first years stood in a line, waiting for their name to be called. Danique were standing up, pretty far back in the Great Hall. The older students were sitting at the four different tables, depending on which house they belonged to. To Danique's pleasure everyone seemed to be too caught up with catching up with their friends to even notice that she was there.
Name after name had been called, sorting the first year students going in different houses.
"Gryffindor!"
"Ravenclaw!"
"Hufflepuff!"
"Slytherin!"
As the last first year student were sorted into Gryffindor, Dumbledore got up from his seat and walked forward so all students of Hogwarts could see him. He smiled against them and looked to Minerva before he started to speak.
"We have one more student that still have to be sorted into a house. Altough, she is not a first year student like all of the other ones." He started and continued with smiling against them, even as the confused looks started to grow on each students face at every table. "She is here to start her sixth year and I am positive that you'll take great care of her." He finished before looking at Danique, who was standing at the very end of the room.
"Danique Fors, you may come up here." He said with a reasuring smile against her.
Danique swallowed nervously as Dumbledore asked her to step forward and sit on the stool. She felt her hands starting to sweat as she was walking in the aisle between all of the four tables, each and every student staring at her. It was just her dream come true, wasn't it?
She put some of the hair that was hanging in her face behind her ear as she sat down on the stool. She put her damp hands together as she felt the older woman put the sorting hat on her head.
Danique felt her heart skip a beat when the hat suddenly started to whisper in her ears. It was something that she was far but prepared for. Altough she was sure her nervousness had a fair play in it all too.
"Hm.. Loyal, hardworking, patient. This is one of the easier ones, it's pretty clear which house you belong to. Altough, I disagree with that." She heard the hat whisper.
"Gryffindor!" The hat shouted out.
She gave Dumbledore a tiny smile as the hat was taken off her head. She looked at the Gryffindor table when she heard applause and a few whistles, in the same way as the younger students had been greated.
So, that's a wrap on the first part! Hopefully it wasn't that bad, and please don't forget to vote and comment if you enjoyed the read. It will truly help me out. :)
