Chapter 9: Problem (R)oad

"I know a place we can go, it's where I go when I need to get away." Max said glancing over at Anna as he drove.

"Well let's go then." Anna said, right away.

"Okay." Max said turning the corner and speeding up.

"Where is it?" Anna asked, realizing she hadn't even considered asking him.

"The art museum." Max answered after a second.

"What? Are you taking me on a date?" Anna asked surprised.

"Maybe." Max said, smiling.

"What? I can't go on a date when Bunny's in the hospital." Anna said raising her voice.

"Okay, okay. Do you want to go to the dorms then?" Max asked.

"No. I want to be with you, I just don't want to go on a date right now." Anna said looking down.

Max looked at Anna and then back towards the road.

"I want to be with you too." Max said looking at Anna again.

Anna smiled a little and so did Max.

"I like you Anna." Max said slowly, while reaching over and putting his hand on her leg.

Anna looked over again but this time he kept his eyes on the road.

Then he made a turn and moved his hand to put it on the steering wheel again.

Finally he came to a stop and it was on the side of the road.

"I have a cabin, it's a few hours away from here." Max suggested as Anna nodded.

"Yeah, that's perfect. I just really need to get away from here and clear my head." Anna said, leaning over and putting her head on Max's shoulder.

"Well I'm glad you want to get away, with me." Max said smiling and looking into Anna's eyes.

When they arrived at the cabin it had just started pouring rain outside and Max opened the door for her.

She hopped down out of the truck and walked with him, up the hill to his cabin.

It was a very wooded area, Anna could hear the wind going through the trees. and she could feel how fresh the air is and she smelt many different scents like plants, flowers, ferns and other things that grew there.

When they got to the cabin door Max unlocked and opened it and they went inside and took their shoes off.
