"Hazardous"
Chapter 2
Emily's POV
As I pulled my thoughts together after realising what had just happened, I quickly walked to my next class, maths.
Throughout the whole lesson I couldn't concentrate on what the teacher was saying as my mind couldn't stop thinking about what had happened only a short few minutes ago.
"He's hazardous"
Those words kept repeating in my brain as I remembered what Rachael had told me. Although she had warned me about him I couldn't help but think about his words and actions towards me.
I had only met this boy less than an hour ago now and I was already drawn to him. The way he seemed so care free and dangerous. Danger is something I should fear but I don't.
The day continued to drag until finally the school bell rung for lunch. I hurried out of the classroom I was just in and attempted to find my way to the canteen. As I entered the room I immediately spotted Rachael sat with two other girls. She waved as I approached.
"Hi" I muttered as I took and seat and got my lunch out.
"Hey Emily" Rachael replied. She then introduced me to the two other girls Chloe and Leah. I smiled at them and they both said "hi" in return. As we all begun a conversation, Rachael suddenly started staring at something over my shoulder with a worried look on her face.
"Emily, why is Jay walking over here" she muttered.
"I don't know" I whispered back.
I had barely finished my sentence when I felt a presence sit beside me.
I turned my head to the left and saw a smirking Jay sat next to me. By now all of the students in the canteen were staring and whispering amongst themselves.
"Hi Emily" Jay spoke in his raspy deep voice. His eyes were staring intently at me and I immediately broke the eye contact and stared intensely at my pasta salad as if it was the most interesting thing. I heard him chuckle amusingly beside me. I suddenly felt his hand on my chin as he lifted my face so I was now looking at him again. My breathing increased as he slowly leaned in towards me as his eyes kept flickering between my lips and eyes. I was frozen and panicking unsure what to do as I was captivated by the beauty of his crystal blue eyes that held so much depth to them.
By now I could feel his breath fanning over my face, and in seconds he swiftly moved so that his face was hovering near my ear.
"Your mine" he growled possessively, "I will meet you at the gates at the end of the day, and don't think about not showing up, because I will find you." My heart felt like it was going to jump out of my rib cage as my breathing rate had picked up as his words.
Once he had said these words he kissed my cheek lingering there for a few seconds before standing to his full towering height. My jaw dropped as the words he had said sunk in. I felt frozen to my seat and the whole canteen was now silent and watching our encounter.
"See you later Beautiful" Jay smirked, obviously happy with my shocked expression as he winked and then walked away and out of the canteen.
I remained still unsure how to process everything that had just happened. My thoughts were abruptly interrupted by Rachael's voice.
"Emily what was that" she asked,
"I'm not sure" I replied back shakily. I could still feel people's stares on me which was making me feel uncomfortable.
"Emily I don't think you realise how serious this is. He has claimed you as his now in front of everyone." Chloe said to me in a serious tone.
"What do you mean I'm his" I now said angrily as I suddenly snapped out of the daze I was in since Jay left. My cheek was tingling from the kiss the he had just given me. "I'm no ones" I stated to the 3 girls who were now sharing worried glances to one another.
"Emily, Jay has claimed you. No other boy can have you. Your his. That's why he kissed your cheek. To prove to everyone that your now his" Leah stated as she stared as me sympathetically.
"How do you know this" I shakily asked, I felt on the edge of tears, this was too much to handle in my first day of school.
"Jay is known for claiming girls. He wants everyone to know your his so no one will mess with you. He is very possessive and controlling and is known as the towns bad boy. With him and his 4 best mates they are very dangerous and violent and are known for being in regular fights. Emily please be careful. I don't want to see you get hurt" Rachael sincerely spoke with tears now brimming at the edges of her eyes.
"Girls, thank you for caring about me but I don't know Jay and I can assure you I'm not his. I'm no ones." I confidently spoke as I tried to not only reassure them but myself also.
The bell suddenly rang signally the end of lunch. As I got up I was pulled into a three way hug with Chloe, Leah and Rachael. I hugged them back and thanked them again for caring, but I reassured them that I was defiantly not meeting Jay at the end of the day and I would be going straight back home on the bus. After swapping numbers with them so they could text me later, I set off for the last two lessons of the day.
Once the bell finally rang for the end of last lesson I grabbed my books and school bag and hurried out of the school and past the gates. I let out a huge sigh of relief when I didn't see Jay there and made sure that I walked faster down the street to the bus stop just incase he saw me.
Once I made it home I walked through the front door and took my shoes off to make my way upstairs. As I was walking through the house I felt like I was being watched. I ran to my room and placed my school bag on my bed before I decided to have a shower.
Once I had finished my shower I
wrapped a towel around my body and walked back into my bedroom to grab new underwear and a change of clothes. Once changed into my leggings and tank top, my phone which I had placed on my bedside dresser before going into the shower suddenly vibrated. I walked over to retrieve it and viewed the text message that I had just received.
It was an unknown number. I decided to read it anyway.
From Unknown:
You might want to close your blinds next time. You never know who is watching. ;)
My breathing rate increased as I ran over to my window and looked out into the street to see a smirking curly haired boy stood leaning on an SUV parked just outside my house. My jaw dropped when I realised who it was. He winked at me before climbing into the car and driving away. It was Jay. He was just outside my house. I immediately shut the blinds as soon as he drove away. I was scared and angry at the same time.
I grabbed my phone and instantly replied to the unknown number
To Unknown:
Why were you just outside my house?!
As soon as I sent the message I received a reply in seconds.
From Unknown:
You should of waited by the gates at the end of the day. I will pick you up tomorrow at 8pm.
How had my first day turned out this way? I began to shake as I thought about tomorrow.
Jay thought I was his. How had I already got myself involved in this kind of danger and trouble?
