"Hazardous"

Chapter 4

Emily's POV

His lips moved in sync with mine as as he wrapped his arms around my waist, my arms subconsciously wrapping around his neck. My back was forcefully pushed up against the front door to my house as we continued to kiss.

My mind had now caught up to the situation and what was happening and I started to panic realising what I was doing. I abruptly pushed jay off me and he slightly stumbled back, but not far enough meaning we were still stood face to face. Our heavy breathing was all that could be heard in the silence of the neighbourhood. Jays minty breath was fanning my face as he opened his mouth to speak. His hand reached up to my face as he softly tucked a loose strand of my hair behind my ear.

"Your beautiful Emily" he murmured as he continued to observe my face his green orbs locked onto my blue ones as he spoke.

My cheeks began to flame at the compliment I had received unsure on how to reply.

"Night Emily" he spoke before swiftly kissing my cheek and walking back to his SUV. He climbed into the drivers seat before glancing back at me. I could make out in the darkness that his face held a smirk before he winked and drove off, the sound of the car driving fading as it retreated out of the street.

I stood still outside my front door, the darkness of the night sending chills throughout my body. My cheek was still tingling from the recent affection I received from Jay. I was still unsure as to what he was hiding. I knew that everyone had warned me off him for a reason but I was still unaware of it.

I made my way inside the house hoping to sneak up into my room as I realised that my parents were back early from work as I heard the faint noises from the TV. I was slowly creeping up the staircase until one of the floorboards slightly creaked. Luckily my parents hadn't heard so I made it safely to room unnoticed.

I changed into more comfortable clothes of a loose baseball top and shorts and climbed into bed. My phone vibrated signalling I had a text.

From Jay

Sleep tight beautiful x

I slightly smiled at the text until I realised that I had only gone on this date to prove a point to Nathan and Jays other mates that I was not afraid or intimidated by Jay. I kept repeating to myself that I couldn't develop feeling for such an obnoxious, mysterious bad boy. But he was different this evening on our date. He was so gentle and caring. It's like his hazardous and dangerous facade dropped whilst he was with me.

I decided to reply to his text with a simple "goodnight" before switching off my phone and letting sleep consume me.

It was the next day, a Friday. Finally the last day of my first week at my new school.

I hadn't seen Jay all day, I hadn't even seen his group of friends that he always hangs round with. I had double English last. I was walking with Rachael to English. I had explained earlier in the day what happened on the date to the girls. Chloe and Leah were both really worried about me but Rachael was even worse. During my first week here we had become really close friends and for some reason she was adamant that even going on that date last night was going to lead to bad things. Whenever I asked her to explain what she meant and how she knew so much about Jay and his friends she simply shut the conversation down with a mumbled reply of "just stay away from him" or "him and his friends are hazardous" or something similar to that. I was quite annoyed really that she was so distant on the topic and how she was just judging him from what others had told her.

The bell rung breaking me out of my thoughts signalling the start of my English lesson. As my teacher began to explain how she would be putting us in pairs for our next assignment the class began to groan as they knew that they would not be paired with their friends.
