"Hazardous"

Chapter 8

Emily's POV

Both boys stood in silence intensely glaring at eachother. Jay was stood rigid, the only signs of moment from him was his deep breathing and when his hand would slightly grip my hip as his hand was now woven around my waist pulling me flush against his side.

"So Mcguiness" Derrick spoke lightly chuckling as he watched the way Jay held me so close against him. Just from derricks presence I knew that he was trouble. The darkened as held in his orbes was frightening.

"This your new toy then?" He asked

Jay was quick to react to his question dropping his arm from my waist taking a long stride towards derrick before gripping the front of his T-shirt. He slightly lifted Derrick of the ground before speaking darkly,

"Don't even talk about her that way or you will regret it" he growled.

There was a few seconds silence between the two men as they just stood there glaring at each other. I was stood a few steps away feeling rather uncomfortable as I could feel Jakes eyes constantly watching me from across the car park.

After dropping Derrick to the ground Jay returned to my side, instantly wrapping his arm once again around my waist. Derrick smirked, an evil scowl present on his face as he intensely watched me.

"Do you know what your little boyfriend here has done before Emily? Huh do you know about his past?" He asked me chuckling, raising an eye brow at me as if to mock me.

I froze unable to reply. I didn't know what his past was like. I knew there must be a reason as to why he was so possessive and mysterious with his dark persona. I wanted so badly to know the secrets behind the person that makes up the boy stood next to me right now with his arm wrapped around my waist.

"Stop it Derrick! Keep your mouth shut!" Jay yelled. Obviously getting fed up with these games that Derrick was trying to play.

"What McGuiness can't handle the truth? What happened to your old toy eh? Remember that Jay? Oh wait she's not here anymore is she!" He menacingly laughed his eyes seeming even darker than before.

This frightened me the words ringing around in my head. What did he mean she wasn't here anymore.

"Why don't you leave us alone" I spoke rather bravely, I could feel Jay once again tense as he obviously didn't think that I would speak during this encounter.

"Got quite a confident little one there haven't you Jay. Shame you haven't told her about the fun times we use to have! Oh I remember when we would.."

"Shut up now Derrick" Jay yelled I could hear him now breathing more heavily obviously not comfortable with the conversation that is taking place.

"Oh and Emily, I can't leave you and your little boyfriend alone. You want to know why?" He spoke darkly "because your scum little boyfriend owes me. He hasn't been working much lately and I'm not happy about it." He spits before turning around. Just as he reaches the truck which before was surround by derricks friends, he smirks at me winking before slowly opening the car to his truck, as if he was teasing Jay to start a fight.

I knew that Jay would not be happy with Derricks behaviour towards me and before he had the chance to catch up to him I grabbed his hand intwining our fingers together. I could sense that he immediately calmed from my touch, obviously angry at the few words that had been spoken. I was still unsure and hadn't figured out half of the mystery that was Jay but for now I just wanted to get out of the city before anything else bad happens.
