Chapter 11

Jay's POV

Once I had to said goodbye to Emily after dropping her home after taking her to the clearing in the field which my mum used to take me to when I was younger I knew that I had to do something to give Derrick a warning. After he ended up being the sole starter of mine and Emily's arguments lately, he needed to understand that I would not let anything happen to her.

I decided to skip school the next day. I knew that Emily would probably ask one of the boys where I was so I had text Tom making sure that he told the boys that if Emily asked to say I wasn't feeling well.

After Jake had decided to make a move on my girl I was not happy. That evening at the cinema when we had the pleasure of running into them, if Emily hadn't been there then I would have wiped that pretty little smirk off Jakes face. I knew that he had spoken to Emily and I wasn't happy about it. He knew that I had claimed her. I knew that day in the canteen when I made my move for a fact that he was there sat in the canteen with his stupid little football friends.

I knew where Jake and his friends often hung out at the local run down bar on the outskirts of the city and I knew that in the evening I would be able to find him there. After spending the whole school day either at the gym or watching a few films it was already the evening.

At about 9ish I set out to the bar driving in SUV to the one place I knew I could find Jake. After about a 20 minute drive of annoyingly busy traffic, and listening to the radio which was playing some pop songs which I didn't care to know the name of, I finally reached the bar. There were few people her, just the regulars. I used to come here often less than a year ago, after my dad left us and I got into the wrong crowd with Derrick.

Once I entered the run down bar, I rather aggressively opened the already battered door, my patience already wearing thin whilst I thought about how naïve Jake must have been if he thought that I would never find out about his little park encounter with my girl.

When I entered the bar the instant smell of alcohol filled my senses, also smelling the strong aroma of smoke as well. I swiftly walked into the corner of the bar which I knew Jake and his little gang would be sat in as it was dimly lit. As I approached them I could hear the obnoxious laugh of the blonde haired boy who would not be laughing for much longer.

Our eyes locked and he noticed that I was not happy.

'Well look who we have here boys' Jake said with cockiness added to his already infuriating voice. His few friends that were also sat in the booth started snickering at his teasing tone.

'So what pleasure do we owe seeing you here today Jay?' he continued a sly smirk now present on his face.

'Can we speak alone please' my voice was sharp and I could tell he was already aware that I was on edge and not pleased at all.

He got up out of the booth taking his time which I knew he was doing to anger me further; however I wouldn't give him the satisfaction.

He led the way to one of the empty hallways in the pub which lead to the bathrooms. As soon as he turned around I grabbed him by his collar pushing him against the wall. His eyes widened slightly before that cocky smirk once again returned to his face.

'You know what you've done Jake, and you knew I wouldn't be happy about it.' I spoke slowly knowing that he felt slightly threated as he started squirming in my increasingly harsh grip.

'I don't know what you're going on about McGuiness' he spat.

'Emily is mine' I growled before retracting my fist and aiming it square at his jaw. His face instantly turned at the harsh contract, with a low groan of pain escaping from his mouth. He immediately responded managing to hit my groin causing me to slightly hunch over in agony.

'You seriously think that she is going to fall for you like naïve little Anne did. Well your wrong' he shouted before starting to return to the main part of the pub, walking out of the dimly lit corridor. I walked after him following him back to near his booth he was sat at before grabbing the back of his shirt and throwing him to the floor. My foot was pushing on his chest causing his breathing rate to increase rapidly.

'Don't you dare ever say Anne's name ever again. I came here to warn you to stay away from Emily otherwise you know what can happen Jake' I slyly smiled before kicking his face after hearing a menacing crack. After realising that his nose was now in fact broken I started walking towards the door of the pub.

Others sat in the pub watched on too terrified to approach us. Jakes mates hadn't even realised what was happening probably too drunk to do anything anyway.

Just before I got to the door Jake's annoying voice called out.

'Just you watch out Jay, you don't know what you've just started. You wait McGuiness'. His voice was now laced with pain and when I turned around his shirt was now stained with the blood dripping from his now injured nose.

'Don't make threats you can't keep Jake, have a nice night' I fake sweetly replied before speed walking out of the pub. I knew that I couldn't stay there long as it was inevitable that one of the people sat in mostly empty pub had more than likely called the police or something.

Once reaching my SUV I instantly drove off home, knowing that I couldn't let Emily know what had happened tonight. Once I reached my house before getting out of the car I grabbed my phone realising that I had one unopened text from an unknown number.

From Unknown:

'You and your girl better watch out'

I knew that Derrick would find out what happened to Jake, and I was worried that my anger had now just made a bad situation, impossibly worse...

A/N: Hey guys! Sorry for the long wait for an update! I had my exams, but they are all finished now so I should be able to start updating more often!

I can't believe that Hazardous has now had 3,100 reads!

I was also thinking about uploading a prologue to this new Nathan Fanfic I have started writing and I was wondering that if I uploaded it soon, would anyone want to read it?
