Opal's POV
There is so much to discover in this big bright world. I've learned to love the trickling sound of the stream, and slight breeze on a summer day. I've learned to love fresh air I breath in as I step out from the back door into the world.
Some people don't care about these things. sometimes I see people at the grocery store, and the sky is a brilliant coral with pink, orange and yellow. The sunset is different every night, but some people don't notice.
But when you really try hard, it's hard not to recognize everything in this world. But you really do discover everything. All you have to do really is just roll on the grass, climb a tree, anything and you'll start to have greater appreciation for this world.
My name is Opal. I live with my mom and dad, in a house down a little ways from town. We have our own land, although its not really a lot. But I love it no matter what.
I don't really have any friends, mainly because I'm homeschooled. I don't know why my parents decided to do that, maybe it was because the bus couldn't come here, or something like that. I don't really mind though. They only give me 4 hours of schooling a day, (not on weekends) and I have the rest of the day to do whatever I want.
Our land is just long, grass plains, with several tall trees, ponds, and streams. The biggest tree is the one with my treehouse in it. My dad built it when I was 7, and I've practically lived in there since. my favorite thing about that treehouse is my name, carved into the front by my dad.
I live a pretty normal life. My birthday's coming up soon in October, and my parents say I've been doing very well in school ( well in homeschool).
