It dwells within the shadows
It's been there all along
Dripping in its darkness
Singing its sinister song
Calamitous are his poisoned words
Reaching the deepest, secret parts of my mind
Entwining bony fingers around my innocent heart
Disaster encroaches evil and unkind
His wants exceed my own
Depraved and malice filled
Slowly tearing my heart out
All my hopes have been killed
Like a fading rose
The light leaves my eyes
He walks away and shadows trail
My rhapsody ends and love dies
