Another hour, another tear
As I watch the death of today
Slowly it wastes and dies
Withering with decay
A darkness takes hold
To solidify the grief
Standing on the edge of this night
At least the torment is brief
Stars begin to twinkle
In this vast and darkening sky
With an outstretched hand
Reaching for the moon on high
The twilight is fading
As the heavens don a lamentable black
Fulfilling its unending destiny
Sympathy is all I lack
And as another falls
This is the day's end
I look toward the horizon
Seeing the hope that night might bring
