Chapter 8: Helios

Tabion, Sam, and Liliana run back to Sam's house and runs inside. They close the door and fall to the floor out of breath.

"Sam! Oh my god! Are you alright?" Sam's mom says running down the stairs hugging Sam.

"We're fine mom" Sam says annoyed by the touching. Sam's mom slaps her in the back of the head.

"That's for not coming straight home after school." Sam looks at her mom and walks up to her room. Liliana and Tabion follow her.

"Autumn!" Sam's father calls from their bedroom. He walks to the door struggling with his pokkadot tie and one shoe on.

"Aw Chris when will you learn how to tie your tie" Autumn laughs and fixes Chris' tie and hands him his shoe.

"I don't know it's like trying to chain a wild beast to a fence." He kisses Autumn and opens the door.

"Babe wait" Autumn says "please talk to Samantha later when you get home"

"Sure Babes" Chris smiles and grabs his top hat and walks to his car. Autumn watches from the window as he drives off. She looks up stairs and climbs the stairs to Liliana's room. She gently puts her ear to the door and listens in.

"The police have literally no leads on anything in this situation." Sam says leaning on the wall.

"Was there any point in going then? Don't get me wrong that was fun breaking into a police station." From outside the door Autumn's eyes widen and she listens closer.

"Keep your voice down!" Liliana says quietly. "We don't want Sam's parents finding out about-"

Sam pulls open the door and Autumn falls into the room. "I think she already knows" Sam says looking down at her mother. Autumn gets up and dusts herself off.

"Mrs. Harrison!" Liliana says surprised.

"Listening into my conversations, the saddest part was you couldn't even get away with it. You lost your edge mom. I want the mom that trained me to have skills not the one who lets society control her." Sam pushes her mom out of the room and locks the door.

"Geez Sam you don't have to be so harsh on her." Tabion says.

"Tabion shut up." Sam replies as she sits on her bed. "So what's next guys we have little information. If we're going through with this we need more."

"We need to get the attention of that white hooded man. He might be the only person that can help solve this and find Hase." Liliana says looking out Sam's window. Tabion and Sam look at eachother with concerned looks.

"Lilly listen I've been going along with this for hours now and it's just that I don't think there's any chance that Hase is-"

"He is alive" Liliana says interrupting Sam. "It hasn't even been a day since the incident. We just need hope."

Tabion's phone rings "It's my mom be right back" Tabion leaves the room to answer the call.

"Is it fair that in an instant something can be taken away. You never know until it happens you feel as if you messed up if you changed what you did everything will be alright but. No matter how much you want to take back those words and get the regular I Love yous. Fear consumes both and you feel as if fighting isn't worth it anymore." Liliana says plopping onto Sam's bed looking at the ceiling. She sighs.

"Hase said that about his uncle bubby didn't he." Sam asks. Liliana looks at her and nods.

"I could have lost him many times but we had trust, faith and love for each other that it was almost natural for us to fight for each other. Now there's a chance of me losing him and I wonder what he's thinking about. Is it me? Or has he given up on our fight for our future."

Hase lays in his bed looking up at the ceiling as moonlight shines through his window. "Is she thinking about me? I messed up and the devastation I brought her. I want to say sorry. But I can't. It'll make the whole situation worse. She wouldn't talk to me the same way and be more akward around me. I guess the best thing to do is lay low. She probably hates me for dying. I wouldn't blame her I ruined a beautiful friendship." Hase sits up and looks out the window at the full moon. "I'm sorry Liliana." Hase's voice echoes and Liliana jumps up from Sam's bed.

"Lily are you okay?" Sam asks holding a pillow in her lap. Liliana sheds a tear and looks at the full moon.

"I heard him." Liliana says in awe.

"What?" Sam says tilting her head.

"He's sorry." Liliana turns quickly to Sam. "We need to find him. The only way is through the hooded men.

Hase plops back in his bed and shuts his eyes and makes a slight smile on his emotionless face. "Can it be helped? Let's see what these guys have to offer me. But I will keep my eye on James. Out of all he is the most annoying. But I like that."
