Everyday from now on I treasured with my mom. After she had been released from the hospital, we had traveled with her.Sometimes, my friends or cousins would tag along. My grandma and my aunts and uncles came also. Shay even came and brought his wife.
But everyday, I knew I was one second closer on loosing my mom who had believed in me. Every time I think about it, I tear up.
It had been about a month since she had left the hospital. Each and every day we have been doing things and having fun. Today we were going somewhere again.
My mom and I had taken a vote and decided to go to the fair. Shay had to go back to his family for a little while, he left about two weeks ago.
"Okay, let's go!" I exclaimed.
I called up grandma and asked her to drop us off.
------
"Mom, this cotton candy is so good! Try it!" I told her, holding it up like a little child. My mom smiled as she took some cotton candy and age it.
"It is good! But not as good as the one we ate last week!" Mom exclaimed as I nodded in agreement.
After a few more rides we decided to go up on the Ferris wheel.
"Two please," Mom told the man as he took out the rope and let us on. We walked on the platform and sat down on the seat as he strapped us in.
"Good to go!" He said as he stepped back and we started to go up so he could buckle in the next person.
"Remember when you were five and you got stuck up here," Mom said. My face brightened as I smiled, recalling the time that happened.
"It took two hours to get me down! I was crying and you were trying to get me to stop." I spoke, as mom smiled. Her face was pale from the tumor in her brain.
"I eventually got you to stop, but you were brave through the rest. You were my little fighting solider!" Mom said, giving me a side hug. I hugged her back as the ride started.
People were screaming in joy as we went around.
As the ride went around, I realized that this may be one of the last times mom gets to experience this. One of the last times we might be together. We don't have much time left.
The Ferris wheel music was blasting in the background and the lights were flashing. People were smiling in joy, but I wasn't fully happy.
Instead, tears fell down my cheeks as I cried. I wasn't ready to loose my mom, it was happening too fast. Mom rubbed my back as she held me in her lap while I continued to cry.
She wouldn't be here to hold me, or to comfort me. It's not fair, the other kids don't feel the pain of loosing their mom. They don't know how Lucky they are. I sobbed into mom's lap as she comforted me.
"Reese, look at me." She stated firmly, as she leveled my head to hers. My eyes had tears in them, and mom looked at me.
"I will love you no matter what happens. You will always be my strong little fighter- you have been since day one. I will always be with you, here with you physically or here with you mentally. I love you," Mom spoke as she wiped tears from my cheeks. I nodded as I sob and clung to her.
