"Reese, can you get me my phone." Mom said, adjusting her purse on her shoulder.

"Sure!" I said, as I ran to find her phone. Once I found it, I handed it over to her.

"Mom, where are you going?" I asked curiously, as mom looked at my direction and sent me a weak smile. I looked at her confused.

"I'm going out, I should be back in a hour." Mom said, as I nodded my head.

---

As I sat in my room, I thought about the events that happened about two months ago.

Two months ago I found out my 'dad' was alive.

Two months ago I met him.

Two months ago was the last time I saw him.

Two months ago was the last time I had heard from him.

"What would you do, Quincy?" I asked my tiger stuffed animal, as I held him close. I had gotten Quincy when I was born, and he has been my favorite stuffed animal ever since.

I was allergic to cats and dogs, and when I meant allergic, I meant allergic.

When I was five, I had pet a dog and had gotten these horrible rashes on my face. I also had trouble breathing, so my mom brought me to the E.R.

Feeling bored, I decided to do some homework.

---

"Finally, done with this bullshit." I mumbled, as I sat back in my chair. I had successfully finished my homework, even if that meant asking people for some of the answers.

A knock on the front door suddenly interrupted my thoughts.

"Coming mom!" I said, running to open the door for mom.

"Hey mom glad your back I-" Is what I said, before realizing who was at the door.

It wasn't my mom, but it was the last person I expected to see.

It was Shay Butler.

This time, he was wearing a grey shirt with some matching grey pants, similar to what he wore in those stupid vlogs of his. He wore the same red hat I saw him the day I met him, along with Mickey Mouse vans.

"Uh, hi Reese. Didn't expect for you to be here." He said, awkwardly.

"I live here, and hello to you too." I said sarcastically. Hey, I could be sarcastic when I felt like being sarcastic. We just stood there, not knowing what to say.

The tension was still in the air from two months ago. What should I do, should I let him in? How would mom feel about that? But he is my dad, the person who genetically created me.

But you just met him two months ago.

Just let him in!

No!

Yes!

No!

Yes!

"Uh, come on in. Just take your shoes off, because mom doesn't like it when people wear shoes in the house." I said, my mouth speaking on its own. Mom gets pissed when people wear dirty shoes in her house.

Mom is a very clean person.

I guess I didn't get that from her at all then. If it wasn't for her, my room would of been a jungle a long time ago. But, since she forced me to clean it mostly everyday, it's always spotless.

"Nice house." He said, looking around.

"Thanks, come to the kitchen." I said, awkwardly, praying for my mother to get back. He walked over to the kitchen, and pulled out a chair before sitting on it.

"Should I get you anything, or?"

"No, it's okay. I just ate an hour ago!" He said, as I nodded. Not knowing what to do, I awkwardly took a seat across from him.

"So, your my dad." I said, as he nodded.

I had already noticed that my dad and I were somewhat alike. Although people said I looked like my mom, I also looked kinda like him. We have the same eye color, and the same nose. That's all I could tell so far. Oh, and being in awkward situations.

"Yeah, I guess this is kinda our bonding time." He said.

"If it's not too much to ask, how do you keep your house this neat?" He asked, as I laughed. It wasn't me who kept it neat, it was mom.

"It's not me, mom's a neat freak. She likes to have everything in order, and keep everything clean. But, I really don't mind if everything is messed up once in a while." I said, as he laughed.

"Sometimes, I feel the same way." He said, as I smiled.

From behind us, we heard the front door open.

"I'm back I just had to make a quick run at- Shay why are you in our house?" Mom said, surprised as Shay stood up. I remained seated. Mom dropped what she was holding.

"I needed to talk to you." He said, rubbing his hands together, something I also did when I was nervous.

"I've got nothing to say right now. I've had a stressful day." Mom explained.

"Please, it's about Reese." He said with a pleading look in his eyes. I'm guessing this was my que to go. I started to walk quietly up the stairs.

"I'm going to go upstairs. Try not to kill each other." I announced, as I continued to walk up the stairs.
