"Happy Birthday Reese!" My family said, as I blew out the candles. Everyone was cheering for me, but I remained in my usual state of despair. From the corner, I saw Shay watching me. He was with another woman, who had long brown hair and brown eyes. She stood next to him, watching me as well.
We were having a small party in the hospital room, since mom couldn't leave. Ever since last night, it had been too painful for her even to talk. She couldn't speak to me anymore.
I looked over at mom, who gave me a small smile.
I saw the pity in everyone's eyes as they sang for me. I hated being pitied- it made me feel weak. They gave me gifts, but I said I would open them later.
Eventually, everyone left.
"Mom," I paused, as she slowly turned her head. Her eyes, held total pain within them. But still, she held on for me. I saw her attempt to give me a small smile, but wince because it hurt so much.
"I will be right back, I need to pee okay?" I spoke in a quiet voice as she nodded her head and let out more coughs. As I left the room- I bumped into Shay.
"I have your get in the car Reese!" Shay told me but I wasn't interested right now.
"I'm going to the bathroom right now." I said in a bitter tone. Shay sighed as he picked up his phone.
I went to the bathroom and did my business.
Once I exited, I heard beeping of machines. My blood ran cold, as I sprinted towards mom's room. I ran to her room but Shay saw me and held me back.
She was going to leave me, and I didn't even get to say goodbye.
"No, I need to see her! I didn't say goodbye, I didn't tell her that!" I pleaded, as the tears strolled down my face. Someone was talking to Shay, but I didn't care. The world was crashing down on me as mom was suffering.
I saw my mom coughing up more blood, and people next to her, trying to keep her alive.
"Mom! Mommy! Please don't go!" I screamed out loud as the tears blurred my vision. Everything around me seemed to speed up as I ran out of Shay's grip and ran over to mom.
The doctors should back.
They knew they couldn't do anything anymore.
I ran onto mom's bed as the coughing started to die down. I knew what that meant- I knew it was happening. I hugged her as I continued to sob.
"I l-love you mom, I'm sorry. I'm sorry for all those times I disappointed you and for the times I was a bad child. I love you. Goodbye mommy, you will always be in my heart. I will never forget you." I whispered to my mom as I clutched onto her dying body.
The machine made a long beeping noise.

RIP Marie 😭
I'm still not done with this book yet, I might end it at 30 chapters.
There will be no sequel but it will end on a good note, I assure you that.
Or maybe I might end it at chapter 20 and do a sequel.
What do you guys think?
Leave it in the comments!
I'm updating today since I won't be able to update for Tuesday.
