Darkness was lying in the white bed. It's been only a day since Jaime and Nightwing helped her escape. She was making a recovery, but she still hadn't woken up yet. Jaime went home to take a shower and check in with his mom. He stayed with Darkness all night and went home early in the morning. Megan kept checking on Darkness to try and guess when she would wake up. Sometimes Megan would go into Darkness' mind and watch her memories to see if there was anything useful for the team. She didn't want to bother Jaime anymore and since he was in school it was the perfect time to see what else Darkness was remembering.

So far... nothing. Just memories about her friends and missions. It's like Darkness doesn't want to see the Director or Counselor in her memories. Whenever they are suppose to appear their face are usually blocked by the shadows in the dark even if the room is filled with light. Megan doesn't know how to take the shadows off to see those two faces, but she couldn't do anything without alerting Darkness of her presence.

Megan sighed as she left Darkness' memories. More killings... more torture... and more training exercises. To Megan it was like experiencing what Darkness was going through, but without the pain. She had to report to Nightwing about what she had learned and it was the same as the last time... nothing.

Megan left the room, leaving Darkness alone like she had felt for two years. After what had happened to Shadow... she promised herself that she wouldn't get close to anyone else. Not after Twilight... Dark Stalker... Dark Storm... and Shadow. Dark Storm was the second worst thing that could have happen. He betrayed her and their teammates. Dark Stalker was the worst and best thing that could have happened to her. He made her feel alive and loved. All she wanted was for him to be happy and when he died all of the happiness he made her feel turned into sadness, loneliness and heartbreak. Ever since she was little she always wanted to make friends, but after all of her friends died she just didn't want to socialize with anyone unless she had too. When everyone she knew was gone she had to release the energy the agency gave her so she decided to help others. She didn't want them to suffer what she had so she helped the heroes in the shadows. She thought it was the least she could do after everything she had done.

Nightwing waited for Megan and when she arrived he asked, "Did you find anything?"

Megan shook her head and said, "Nothing. It's like she's hiding something from herself."

Nightwing was curious to why Megan would say that. "And why is that?"

Megan replied, "Darkness purposely tries to hide the faces of whoever gave her and her teammates orders. It's like she doesn't want to remember."

"Did you at least get her real name?" Nightwing asked her. Megan shook her head again. He sighed, he didn't get a name from the blood sample he had gotten either. He couldn't understand how can someone not be in the data files. He could find anyone, full profile and all, but hers. It's like she doesn't even exist in any record. If there's no record then where did she come from? Who is she? More questions and no answers for any of them. It was just frustrating for Nightwing and Megan.

A groan echoed throughout the almost empty room. Darkness eyes fluttered open as she looked at her surroundings. 'What happened?' She thought. 'How did I get here?' Suddenly, her memories came pouring down on her. She remembered herself suffering through the pain the agency put her through and how Blue Beetle came to save her. 'Why did he save me again? He didn't owe me anything, not this time at least. Now I owe him.'

She knew she needed her Iddorry cream to heal her injuries fast. She needed to get out of this room, wherever the room is. She needs to get out away from everyone, before she makes even more mistakes. Costing other peoples lives, she doesn't want to have her hands stained with even more blood than it already has. 'Hopefully the door is open and I can sneak out of here.' She thought, but then stopped when she noticed her outfit. She was wearing something that looked like a hospital gown on and she started to freak out. 'My suit! Where is my suit?'

Darkness has something... important in it to her. It's the only thing she has to remember her friends... all of them. She is also more comfortable with it on. She was basically raised in a suit. She kind of had to wear them on missions and when she got too big for one, she had to got to pick another one. She had always gotten a suit with the colors blue and black. It made her feel like a superhero just without the mask, but now that she's free she needs the mask on. She doesn't want her enemies knowing how she looks.

Darkness got up and walked carefully to the door trying not to make noise. She didn't have to be careful, but there could be traps set for all she knew. She couldn't stay not even if they' re the heroes who saved her. They did bring her to the Director for Dark Storm and her had to meet their punishment. This probably meant that they're keeping her to answer their questions or maybe for something else entirely. She doesn't want to know or find out. She quietly tip-toed over to the door and put her ear near it. She tried to hear something, anything from the other side of the door. It didn't matter to her, but if there wasn't any sign of someone or something on the other side then she would open the door and leave. She couldn't hear anything, but then the sound of a shattering plate or cup echoed. 'There's someone here.' Darkness thought. Shortly after different types of footsteps went to the sound of the plate or cup and shouting also followed. Darkness went back to the hospital bed and laid down on it. Darkness wanted to see the wounds of her face, but there wasn't a mirror in the room. So she couldn't see the wounds on her face, so instead she check the wounds on her stomach and arms. Most of them were purple and others were green. She was growing tried, maybe it was because of all the blood she lost and she still needed to regain her strength. It was hard to tell, she couldn't think straight and keeping her eyes open was a waste of strength. She closed them and fell asleep into the memories of her friends and teammates.
