I walk through the academy, my back straight and head up with pride. Today was the day. I was officially 15. My hard years of training had all been for this point in life. I'm in the process of finally becoming a SAMA Agent, This is the dream every icecrobytic victim pursues.
I walk into the training room, scattered across the room, a few people are putting in extra practise or talking with friends. I walk up to Jeremiah, a boy controlling elements class. "Hey Sarah," Jeremiah says, looking up from his push-ups, "214, 215, 1 million!" He rolls over and looks up at me, "You might be good at your push-ups but you need to work on your counting," I joke. "Whatever do you mean?" he pouts, playing dumb. I squat down next to him and ruffle his sandy blond hair. You could tell Jeremiah worked out at the gym every day. His toned muscle framed his whole 'secret agent' look. "You just don't know that I'm so smart that they haven't invented my language yet," he says, sitting, to level our heights. "What? Jeremiahese? Doesn't sound right."
"No you are just saying it wrong. Now after me Jer-"
"-Jer-"
"-em-"
"-em-"
"-iah-"
"-ia- No this is ridiculous." I laugh.
"Well then guess who won best Jeremiahese speaking, I did!" I roll my eyes and smile at how immature he is.
"How'd your first mission go?" I ask.
"Wait is it your..." Jeremiah stands up, "We were talking about my fantastic language and it's your birthday, your first mission!" he pulls me up.
"Yep!" I say, popping the 'p'.
"My first mission was easy, I'm sure yours will be the same."
"I hope so," I really wanted this job. To get out and around the world. To visit my family. Not every icecrobytic victim has a family. To find them you need to look into yourself since we've taken at birth. I have a cousin called Sienna. She probably doesn't even know I exist. Normally only one person in your family has the weird DNA. Anyone who doesn't know about the magic in the world, live their entire lives without knowing. "Any luck with your parents?" I ask quietly. This was a touchy subject for him.
"No," he sighs, "I might be from Scotland or some part of Europe but there's so many people and only one of me. But hey, why are we talking about me? Today is your day! You know all the rules and regulations?"
"Yes."
"You won't do anything stupid when I'm not around?"
"I won't."
"You won't die on me?"
"No."
"And you'll tell me all about your mission?"
"Yes- wait! You know I'm not allowed to."
He gives me a sheepish smile.
"Just checking you were paying attention."
"Uh ah."
"All trainees must report to room B2065 immediately. I repeat, all trainees must report to room B2065 immediately." The loud speakers boom.
"Well, that's me. See you after my mission."
"Of course."
I walk out into the hallway, thinking to myself, where the heck is room B2065?
