We walk together in silence. I don't like it, we normally talked and laughed.
"So," I say, attempting to break the silence, "Your friends seem nice."
Jeremiah cracked a smile, "Yeah, you seemed thrilled to meet them."
"I can honestly see all of them getting best student awards," I joke.
"I'll promise to invite you to the award ceremony just so you can cheer them on," his smile widens. I don't see how a nice person like Jeremiah, could be friends with idiots like them.
"So when were you going to tell me you went to school? What happened to the all-day training sessions?" I ask.
Jeremiah wouldn't meet my gaze, "Did you have to bring that up?"
"Yes," I say firmly, "I would like to believe that my best friend could trust me enough to tell me this."
"It's nothing."
"Nothing?"
"Yeah. Ok, so I might have lied about the training sessions."
"How long have you been going to school?"
"That's not important-"
"-Yes it is!" Could he not see how big of a lie this is? Jeremiah was my only friend and he didn't trust me to keep the secret.
"Five years," he sighs.
"FIVE YEARS!" I yell.
"Quiet down," he smiles again, "They will be able to hear you from Russia."
"Well maybe you should have just told me!"
"Sorry Mum," he thought this was funny!
"Stop laughing," it was a useless attempt as I start laughing soon after.
"Do you think since you're playing rebel you can tell me your mission?" Jeremiah asks.
"I guess, and I'm not playing rebel, I'm just doing what's right," I protest, "My mission was to go to a school where a grandchild of a Greek God was said to be. I had to find where they kept their children. But there's more, more Gods. S.A.M.A won't listen to me, I just know that there's more to it."
Jeremiah nods, "Ok, so where are you taking me?"
"To a place where I believe other Gods are keeping their children, Camp Jupiter, I believe it was called."
"Wow, this is bigger than a first mission but what are we going to do about it? S.A.M.A isn't with us anymore, we're on our own."
"We need to get the information. I don't know why but it just seems right. I'm missing a big piece of information somewhere, and I have a feeling it effects more than the children of the Gods," I say.
"What do you mean?"
I sigh, "That's the scary part, I don't know."
