Mum and dad made sure that I was around Ashton, Kenzie, or any of the other boys the rest of the weekend. They had to work but didn't want me alone.
Somehow things changed. My dad is usually so business man like even when he isn't at work. Over the phone was one of the first times since I was 10 that he was focused on ME. I guess that the man breaking into the house helped him see that it's possible for something horrible to happen to me. We were just lucky the first time. Same for my mum. I actually kind of thank that robber...but I'm still mad at him since he DID to something to make me fear for my life.
I didn't want to go to school when Monday came because I needed a break after what happened. I mean, someone can't just break into your house and you get over it 3 days later. Anyways, mum and dad took off work to let me stay home which I thought was awesome.
"Have you spoken to Ashton today?" Mum asked while she looked through clothes racks.
"Yeah. He's been texting me in class about how bored he is."
She laughed. "How long have you two been dating?"
"A month."
"Wow, you guys are really close for being together a month. I mean, texting each other all the time, him risking his life by coming to the house to protect you...." She trailed off. "You guys sound like you're in love."
"Well, we've been friends for quite a while...and we started to like each other really early in our friendship..and I guess our feelings just kind of grew over time..we're kind at the first stage of being in love. You know, always wanting to see each other, talk to each other; stuff like that. Simple stuff."
"Wow. Have you two kissed yet?"
"Twice. It was like 5 months ago. It's a long story."
She nodded in understanding. "Well, maybe we can have him over for dinner tonight."
"That sounds great." I smiled kind of shocked.
"You're father and I may have misjudged him before. I'd like to get to know him."
I looked at her as a smile creeped across my face.

"Guys, if you need to know anything about him, you should know that you don't have to be stressing over him. It's just Ashton. All that he cares about is the fact that you guys don't hate him so much." I smirked as I watched my father cooking and my mother running around trying to sweep up things that are too small to be even microscopic. But they ignored me.
I kind of guessed that my mum would be like this so I let her pick out my outfit to make her feel calmer.
"Oh my gosh! It's him!" Mum panicked, attempting to run in heels as she rushed out of the kitchen after she heard a knock at the front door.
"Mum! Aren't I supposed to be the one acting this way?" I laughed, eating a chip that was in a bowl along with a bunch of other snacks she had sat out for us.
My dad laughed before walking out as well to meet Ashton at the door.
"I guess the girlfriend should go too." I laughed to myself before following behind.
On my way to the door, I passed the shattered window that was supposed to have been fixed earlier today but the repair guy had to cancel it for today. Now it sits there as a reminder of only a few days ago.
