The Most Dangerous Kind of Love 16
~Jason~
It was a month later before something happened.
Everything with Channing had been going great. Even though I had tried to convince her to distance herself from me multiple times, it never worked. She was absolutely convinced that she was safer around me even when I knew she wasn't. I let it go after a while, knowing that she was going to get what she wanted, and I wasn't.
But on this particular night, I had invited Channing to come over for dinner and a movie at my place. Surprisingly, I can actually cook. I never knew that until I moved into my apartment. Plus, now that I was in my own place, Channing came over here a lot more often than I went to her house. Don't get me wrong, I love her family, but being at my place gives us privacy.
"What movie do you want to watch?" she asked me after we had finished dinner. She had taken the initiative of doing the dishes tonight, so she was drying her hands when she asked the question.
"What would you like to see?" I asked her, rising from my chair and slowly making my way over to her.
Channing set the dish towel down on the counter behind her at the same moment I reached the direct front of her. Wrapping my arms around her shoulders, I leaned forward and pressed my lips to her forehead. She smiled before wrapping her own arms around my lower waist, exciting me maybe a little too much.
"It's your turn to pick the movie," she whispered, her eyes trailing down to my lips briefly before returning to my eyes.
I leaned down to hover my lips over hers. I heard her breathing hitch, and I felt her heart start to pound. I lightly pressed my mouth against hers, and I felt my own heart start to beat erratically.
"Mmm, what if we skip the movie?" I asked, somewhat joking. I knew Channing would never be that girl to do anything before marriage, so I don't know why I asked that question. It just didn't seem like something she would do.
She let out a small giggle as I wrapped my arms around her waist. "No, Jason. Not today."
"Okay, baby," I said, squeezing her slightly. "Whatever you say. But you know you can't resist me."
"That is true," she said with a laugh. "You're just so irresistible."
"I know I am," I said cockily.
Channing lightly slapped my shoulder. "Someone's awfully full of himself."
"Maybe, but it's the truth. I am pretty irresistible," I stated, pulling the best 'I'm adorable' face I could.
She laughed and leaned up to kiss my cheek. "You're funny."
"So which movie?" I asked, releasing her and leading her to the main living area.
"I don't care. You pick," she said as she made herself comfortable on the couch.
I studied my DVDs for a minute before pulling out a random one. Slipping it into the DVD player, I got the movie ready to be played.
"I'm going to go change into something a little more comfortable," Channing said. "Ill be right back."
She got up from the couch and made her way down to the bathroom. She had clothes here, so I didn't ask what she was going to wear. She also knew she was welcome to anything of mine, so if she wanted to wear something like my T-shirt or boxer shorts, then she was more than welcome to.
Just thinking about her in my clothes got me excited. Maybe a little too much. Channing could do that to me, though. It was amazing how much this girl affected me in more ways than one. I had slowly grown to side with her decision of staying around me no matter the consequences, which was the opposite of what I wanted. However, as usual, she was right. She knew what she was doing when she made that decision. I would never admit she was right, though. Because even though I wanted her near me, and I loved having her as my girlfriend, I still knew that I was going to put her in danger at some point.
