The Most Dangerous Kind of Love 5
*Jason's POV*
Channing seemed so cautious. And she's clearly never been on a motorcycle before because she clung to me for dear life. But for some reason, I wasn't complaining.
I really had no plan as to where we were going because I never expected her to agree to ditching with me in the first place. She seemed like such a 'good girl.'
A few minutes later, I pulled up at a small lake. I parked my bike and got off. Channing followed my lead, handing me the helmet she had been wearing.
"So what are we doing?" she asked. Ah, I loved the sound of her voice. Wait, no I don't. I can't. I can't turn soft. That would be bad.
"I just wanted to talk," I muttered.
"About what?"
"You need to stay away from me," I just came out and said it.
"Um, why?" she asked, slightly confused.
"Because," I snapped, starting to walk down the sidewalk.
"Wow, what an answer," she said sarcastically, following me.
"Yep," I said unenthusiastically, popping the 'p.'
"You know, I think you should give me the real answer," she said.
I sighed and looked at her.
"Because I'm dangerous," I said. "And it would be dangerous for you."
"Oh, so you care about me?" she asked in a joking way, yet with a serious question.
I felt myself turn red - a new feeling for me.
"Uh, no," I said, but it came out in the tone of a question, making her smirk.
"Yeah, whatever," she said, bumping my shoulder playfully. She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, and I couldn't help but stare at her.
She was beautiful, no matter how hard I tried to convince myself that it wasn't going to be good if I let myself think such things.
"Hey, what time is it?" she asked.
"Um, almost three," I said, checking my phone.
"Okay," she said. "You know, my house is literally right down the street."
I was a little lost why she told me that, but then I got it.
"So, I'll walk you home."
Channing smiled. "Great."
It only took ten minutes go reach her house. We only had small talk the whole way. Nothing big.
But let me say this: her house is huge! Massive! It was a fucking mansion! And it was very nice, which confirmed a lot about her, in my opinion.
"So, I'll see you tomorrow in class?" she asked with a sweet smile.
"Sure," I said.
She smiled once more before disappearing Ito her house.

*The next day*
*Channing's POV*
I walked into my first class right as the bell rang. Science. Not my thing.
I looked around the room once I had taken my seat, noticing that Jason wasn't here. He said yesterday that he would be here today, so I really had no idea where he was.
A note was thrown in my face, snapping my attention towards it.
*dinner tonight? Oh and stop looking around for him, he's not here if you haven't noticed. Lol
~Sam
I glanced at her. Was it that obvious I was looking for Jason?
I wrote that we could catch dinner later and threw the note back at her, nailing her right in her ear, making her flinch. I stifled a laugh, and turned my attention to the board. That's what you get for not just texting me in the first place.

"Hey, dad," I said, throwing my backpack on the table across from where he was feeding Ava early dinner. "You're home early."
"Yeah, I only had a meeting with the people from the Crime Lab today," he said.
"Crime Lab?"
"And the LVPD," he said. "I'm defending someone tied in one of the cases they've been working at for a while now."
"Cool," I said.
"Yeah, would you do me a favor and get your brother down here?"
"Sure," I said, walking towards the stairs, and sprinting up them.
"Zane?" I called out.
"Yeah?"
"Come downstairs. Dad wants you!"
"Okay!"
"Channing?" my dad called from downstairs.
"Yes?" I called back.
"Would you mind running to the store and picking up something for dinner?"
I sighed. "Sure. I'm going out with a friend, though. But I'll get something for you, Ava, and Zane. I'll be back later," I said as I walked back down the stairs, grabbed my keys, and went outside to my car.
"Channing!" dad called right as I was about to get in.
"Yes?" I asked.
"Thanks," he said. "For everything you do. I know it's a lot, but I really appreciate it."
I smiled small. "Welcome."
My dad smiled, and went back inside as I backed out of the driveway, and drove off.
See, I'm the motherly figure in my household. My mom was murdered when I was seven. They never found the killers. But I was never close to my mom.
Things like that didn't bother me.
