As soon as Allen opened his eyes he knew he was in trouble. Bright lights in a white room, the smell of antibiotics and disinfectant was looming. He ached all over and hadn't even moved his head. The teen could hear voices but they were foggy, different sounds melting together to give Allen one big headache.

Allen finally mustered up enough strength to turn his head towards the voices. He now had a pretty clear view. Allen was in what looked to be a hospital, or at least a clinic... a very high tech clinic. The door was closed but he knew the voices were coming from right outside. He could make them out a bit more. Just the sounds though, he guessed they were talking in hushed whispers. He could pinpoint at least 3 men and 1 woman. The fog in his head was slightly clearing up.

"Finally up?" Allen sat up suddenly at the voice, cursing a bit as the room spun. He closed his eyes as he waiting for the dizziness to pass. He felt a hand on his shoulder but didn't open his eyes. If this person was going to hurt him he wouldn't be in a hospital room right now.

"What you did out there was amazing. Probably saved my life. I'm not sure what you did though, mind explaining it?" Realization crept into Allen's mind as his eyes suddenly snapped open.

"You're Tony Stark." Allen was awestruck. In front of him was possibly the richest man in New York. The billionaire smiled at him,he looked tired.

"Um, Mr.Stark. Are you okay?" the middle aged man looked confused for a second. Then he spoke.

"You don't remember what happened. Do you Allen?"

Allen shook his head, all he remembered was being really cold and... Allen's pulled his hair down. It was white.

"You stopped several hundreds of pounds of concrete from falling on you and then it disappeared. You probably don't know this but when it disappeared it caused some kind of energy wave. The energy wave kept the portal open long enough for me to fall through it after I went in." Allen was speechless.

"Are you a mutant?" The teen flinched, New York wasn't very accepting towards mutants. He knew be wasn't one though, he would've been like that since he was born. Allen shook his head. Tony looked at him skeptically, but Allen's face must've been one of absolute disbelief because Tony let it go.

"Spike!" Allen suddenly remembered his guardian. He looked around for his bag and spotted it on a chair next to his bed. He made to get up and grab it but Tony beat him to it.

"Is Spike your dog or something?" Allen's hands were slightly trembling as Tony passed him his bag.

"He's my guardian," Allen rummaged through his bag looking for his phone. "he was in your tower interviewing people when the attack happened. Shit." His phone wasn't there. Tony made a face like he was trying not to laugh and muttered something under his breath. Allen could only catch the words "gravity bastard".

"What was that? Allen spoke in an angry manner, Tony looked at him curiously.

The door suddenly slammed open, Spike ran in and hugged Allen close to him.

"I swear to God, if you ever endanger yourself like that again I will find a way to keep you in the house forever." Spike was joking but it was clear how worried he had been. Allen hugged him back tightly.

"This is cute. Oh, I've always been a fan of happy endings."

Spike muttered a curse at Tony and let go of Allen. He patted the teens head and put an arm around his shoulders.

"Tony do you mind? I've gotta talk to him." Tony made a face but, slowly, left the room.

Spike looked fine. No bruises or cuts at all. Allen was so incredibly relieved he couldn't put it into words. Allen knew that he on the other hand wasn't as okay as Spike was. He could feel a dull ache in his torso and his head was pounding. Allen guessed that not all of the debris disappeared and some had hit him.

"Allen, how're ya feeling? Hit your head kind of hard, well you are clumsy as shit so..." Spike trailed off. Allen knew he was trying to joke, trying to forget the fact that Allen almost died. Spike looked so tired in that moment, like he was carrying the world on his shoulders.

"Allen, about these powers of yours. No, we need to talk about it Allen." Spike felt crushed seeing Allen try to shut him out. He knew the kid was processing a lot, but it wasn't healthy to keep it shut in. Especially something this big.

"Spike, I don't know what to say about them. It just happened."

"Allen, just tell me what you were thinking when it happened." Allen looked at Spike with fear, the man couldn't tell if it was fear towards the consequences of whatever answer it was, or fear of what happened.

"I don't know Spike, all I remember is thinking 'I'm gonna die' Spike I was so scared. It was instinct, I think. I felt really cold. After I realized what was happening I clenched my fists as if I knew. I was natural to me. I know how I did it but at the same time, I'm not sure. I can't explain it." Allen held his head in his hands, all this thinking was making his headache turn into a migraine. Spike stood up grabbing Allen's things.

"Where are you going?" Allen asked slightly concerned.

"We are going home, Allen. You're mostly fine and we can take a S.H.I.E.L.D helicopter. We need to talk about something important kiddo." Spike looked grim, like he was already regretting the pending conversation.

"What do you mean?" Allen was-slowly-getting up and changing into his clothes.

"You are about to join a world of things you can't even imagine, and believe it or not, you have so much potential to do amazing things. I should have told you a long time ago Allen." Spike was speaking faster and faster. He seemed anxious, his hands twitching and he kept playing with the chain around his neck.

"What are you talking about? Spike, what's going on?"

"Allen, you aren't the only one with powers in the room, albeit mine aren't as... natural as yours."

Allen sat dumbfounded.

"Allen, you remember that time when you fell off of the tree in Central Park?" Allen could only nod, he couldn't understand how this tied into fact that Spike had powers.

"The reason you didn't hit your head and fall into a coma or something is because of this ring." Spike lifted his right hand and showed Allen the silver ring on his index finger. "It gives me the powers to alter gravity."
