Bets and Regrets

He woke up feeling numb, not that he was going to complain. The head pains he was feeling were last awake were incredibly painful, to the point where all of his other senses had been dulled completely. He remembered barely seeing or hearing anything. His body felt a bit heavy but other than that he felt fine. He stayed still though, content to lie comfortably on the medical cot. He felt the bed dip next to him, and a hand intertwine with his.

"I know you're awake, Ally." Allen opened his eyes slowly, a slight smile on his lips as he saw the redhead.

"Hey." Allen winced at the scratchy voice that escaped him, he coughed roughly and sat up with Lavi's help. He was handed a cup of water and drank it thankfully. Lavi took the cup once he had finished and set it aside, running a hand through Allen's hair.

"You gave Spike quite the scare." Allen frowned and opened his mouth to speak but was stopped at the glare Lavi sent him.

"What's with the bruise?" Deja vu. Allen winced slightly as Lavi's fingertips danced across his cheek, barely touching but Hope had one hell of a right hook. Allen leaned into the touch subconsciously. The white haired teen laid back down on the cot, looking at his boyfriend through slightly closed gray eyes. He grabbed Lavi's hand.

"I told Hope I'm the phantom." Lavi smiled as Allen yawned, the pain meds were still in effect. The younger teen really didn't know how cute he was.

"I guessed she would take it like that. Did'ja tell her about us?" Pale cheeks flushed red at the word. Us. Allen nodded, sitting up once more. I don't want to go back to sleep.

"Yeah, she kinda freaked out. It was hilarious. Hey, can you c'mere?" Allen patted space next to him. God, he's so fucking cute. Lavi laid down next to Allen, on top of the covers. Allen laid his head on the redhead's right shoulder.

"I won't ask what happened considering the others will probably hound you about it later. You probably don't know what happened after you got to the tower, do you?" Allen shook his head.

"I can't remember anything after the phone call..." Lavi frowned slightly.

"You started getting really sharp head pains, Hope freaked out. Spike freaked out, called the avengers and then they brought you here. Spike told me there was some sort of transmitter letting out signals that affected your brainwaves. They had to rip it out." Allen cringed as his hand went up, feeling the bandages that had been carefully wrapped around his neck.

"Then they called me and I had to break a couple traffic laws to make sure my boyfriend didn't die within three hours of us getting together." Allen snorted loudly.

"Fuck off." The tone was light and happy.

"Okay." The tone was calm and sure.

"Wait what are y-" The tone was interrupted by the redhead jumping off the bed and Allen's face hitting the pillow next to him. Allen glared at him as the taller teen helped him up while laughing loudly.

"Asshole." Lavi rolled his eyes and pecked Allen's lips. The white haired teen went red and he shoved the other lightly.

"Want JARVIS to get the avengers? Might as well tell them what happened." Allen nodded and JARVIS called them. Allen wondered what he had done to deserve such an amazing person in his life. All the people in his life were great but Lavi kind of just stuck out. Allen wasn't sure if it was because how gentle the taller teen was with him or if they had known each other in some other life. Allen stared at his green eyes not realizing the teen was trying to talk. Allen smiled sheepishly and asked him to repeat what he said. The redhead merely chuckled and put an arm around Allen's waist.

"Clint said he wasn't going to mention anything about us dating until Steve figured it out because the team has a bet going on." The shorter teen laughed and rolled his eyes. Lavi quickly moved his arm back to his side and stood slightly away from the bed. Just then Clint stormed in laughing maniacally.

"Don't race me, idiots!" He held out his hand as Spike and Tony walked out holding out wads of cash.

"Don't bet away our money." Allen glared at his guardian who in turn looked pleadingly at Clint who merely grabbed it and cackled evilly. Steve, Bruce, Natasha and Thor walked in with a mix of annoyance and amusement on their faces. Thor stood back slightly, his mind probably somewhere else. Allen waited until all the avengers were sitting around him before he told them what had happened.

"Well," Clint started after Allen had finished, "Fury said the call was not connected to SHIELD. He had people look into the number and it was from Russia. Allen, who'd you piss off?" Allen flung a pillow at him in response.

"Why'd he call Allen 'your highness'?" The Avengers murmured and Allen couldn't help but groan.

"Okay, just tell me that I can still go on patrol." Allen sounded hopeful but the looks on his guardian's face (along with the other Avengers) brought him back down to reality.

"You realize you're being targeted, right?" Tony spoke slowly, pronouncing each word clearly as if Allen couldn't understand him.

"Duh." Natasha shrugged and walked out, stopping before reaching the door. "Give it four days. If we don't find anyone you can go patrol. If you want Tony can take up some shifts and Clint will too." Allen expected the men to bicker but both nodded, silently agreeing to the task.

"Okay, but this is unnecessary. SHIELD is so thorough. I'm sure I'll be fine."

1 week later.

The Avengers (besides Allen and Spike) had set out a training day for Lavi, who was quickly becoming a lethal weapon. He was currently sparring with Steve who promised to go easy on him but took regretted his words as the redhead knocked him off his feet. Lavi held a hand out at him smiling widely.

"Come again."

"Snarky bastard." Clint laughed as Tony passed him a wad of cash.

"You're going to make the billionaire poor." Bruce was sitting off to the side. (No one really blamed him, they didn't want to risk a Code Green.) They continued bickering until Spike ran in breathless and shaking ever so slightly.

"Spike? Spike calm down, what happened?" Lavi stood back afraid of the possibilities. If anything happened too... no. Nothing would happen to Allen. Allen is fine, he didn't even go out on patrol he was going to take pictures today. Lavi's heart stopped at what Spike then said.

"Allen's gone. Someone grabbed him, he's been captured."
