Allen was hot. Not in the 'super model' (Although Lavi would punch anyone who dared to disagree.) kind of hot. He was 'save me from this actual hell on earth' kind of hot. He couldn't believe that Alex enjoyed actually living in hell. He'd gotten his luggage from the limo and had already settled into the small cozy house. He'd said a quick hello to Alex's parent who warmly greeted him and changed into a pair of shorts instead of the jeans he'd traveled in. Alas, Allen was still sweating. He had his hair up in a tiny ponytail because although his hair wasn't long, it still stuck to his neck and made him uncomfortable.

"Alex, do you have a freezer? Preferably one I can sleep in for the duration of my stay." Alex choked on the water she was drinking.

"Oh my god. Allen, it's not that bad."

"I'm melting." He threw himself dramatically on the bottom bunk of the room he was staying in.

"Who are you, the wicked witch?" Alex was rolling her eyes.

"I'm from New York. It's never this hot. I'm actually sweating fluids I didn't know I had." Allen groaned as he sat up. He looked at the room around him. There were possibly hundred of pictures, each telling a different story. Alex may not be the photographer Allen is, but she definitely wasn't Clint (Clint = bad photographer for those of you who couldn't catch on). The walls were a light blue that looked beautiful as the sun hit it. The bunk bed was white and had blue sheets. There were board games on some sides of the room, and the closet was full of Alex's clothes. She'd left room for Allen's clothes-She'd offered Allen his own room but Allen had refused, opting instead to stay with his friend. As long as she didn't mind.

"Of course I don't mind."

"What about your parents?"

"Oh please, I showed them a picture of you and Lavi and they told me to get you two together they know you aren't going to do anything."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes. Now shut up and tell me about your powers."

Allen snorted thinking back on how interested Alex had been. To be fair, she had always been a huge fan of any comic books she could get her hands on. She loved a hero. And now her internet friend was one. How cool is that? Allen yelped as something wet and cold suddenly whacked him on the forehead.

"First of all, what's so funny? Second of all, have a cold towel, Elsa."

"Elsa doesn't dislike the warmth. Wait, does she?"

That comment spiraled into a conversation Allen and Alex are choosing to forget completely. As far as they were concerned they had been abducted by aliens and brought back with no memory except for the faint image of an alien. The day quickly trickled into an evening full of laughter and barbecue. (Allen is never leaving. He's decided.) Allen took a shower and texted his friends back home for a bit, with Alex teasing him about his 'foreign' boyfriend.

"For the last time, he isn't actually Romanian!"

The next day, Thursday, was uneventful. They'd spent the day taking pictures at the beach and playing small pranks on each other. And if Allen had been feeling watched well he played that down to just being paranoid. Moving along to Friday, Alex said she wanted to take Allen to explore. Now considering it was about as hot as the sun, Allen wore a crop top and a pair of -really short- shorts. He refused to suffer as he did on Wednesday. They made their way through the small communities on the keys took pictures as they went.

"Oh no." Alex sighed, grabbing Allen's shoulder and pulling him back down the path they came from.

"What's wrong? Why are we going back?" Then Allen saw him. A man stumbling along the road, obviously drunk. He had a bottle in his hand and was yelling obscenities at anyone trying to get near him. Allen went towards him only to be grabbed roughly by the arm.
