Chapter 21

*'*'*Ellie's POV*'*'*

"Whoa!" Alex exclaims as he abruptly pulls away from Lexie breaking the kiss as well as her heart.

Just kidding..

"What was that for?" He asks utterly confused as he adjusts the hem of his shirt which was in Lexie's tight grip moments ago.

"A kiss." She replies playing it dumb as she glances my way and then winks knowingly before she turns her attention back at Alex who's biting hard on his bottom lip to control himself. I guess.

Or maybe he liked the kiss.

One will never know.

"If you want to make out, go somewhere else.. We don't want to see you sucking each other's face off." I spat at her letting my anger come to the surface as I turn my back at them and make my way to my bedroom.

"Ellie!" Alex says grabbing my arm in order to prevent me from going into the room.

"What?" I ask loudly making him wince at my harsh tone but doesn't let go of my hand.

"That didn't mean anything for me." He states staring intently into my eyes leaving me with no doubt. He's genuinely saying the truth.

"Like I care." I say stating the obvious and make a grimace to prove my point.

Why would I care?

He doesn't seem taken aback by my words and just nods letting go off my arm.

"I just wanted to make that clear." He says breaking eye contact and takes a big step back gratefully creating distance between us.

"Is still the offer on the table?" I ask trying to change the subject and see his face scrunch up in confusion.

"Oh yeah." He says seconds later with a grin making its way into his face."Will you sing with me tomorrow night?" He asks turning to meet my eyes once again.

"What?" Lexie asks both surprised and clearly annoyed but, as usual, I choose to ignore her.

"Sure." I reply offering Alex a small smile to lighten the mood which he returns with a big one of his own.

"When do you have time to practice?" He asks ignoring Lexie who's been throwing daggers at the back of his head for a long time.

I offer him a one-shoulder shrug. "We can practice any time you want.. It's not like I have something to do."

"We can practice now?" He says in a questioning tone to make sure I'm okay with it which I confirm with a firm nod making him smile once again.

"Let's go." He says offering me his hand to take and I quickly place mine into his enjoying the look on Lexie's face even though the one that has been decorating Laura's face is obviously much more funnier.

"Bye Laura!" I wave at her bringing her out of her daze and she cheerfully waves back at me as Alex drags me out of the apartment.

"Here we are." I say as I open the door to the room in which I practice for the competition.

"Cool.." Ellie commends glancing around in awe even though she has seen the place before at least two times.

One time when I was singing Ed Sheeran's Give me Love and the other when I sang Troublemaker by Olly Murs to her.
