Love In The Backstage

Chapter 25

-Ellie's POV-

"So guys.. Where have you been?" Laura asks both me and Alex the moment we step foot in our apartment.

"Outside!"

"Backstage!" We exclaim the same time and immediately turn to look at each other with a pointed look.

"Um.. So where have you been? " Austin repeats Laura's question casually not bothering to hide his curiosity.

"Backstage!!"

"Outside!!" Dammit Alex.

"So you were outside and backstage at the same time?" Austin asks another question with plausible look of annoyance plastered on his face.

Okay, well..

If it ain't Mr. Irritated

"Well, after we changed costumes backstage I went for a walk outside alone." I state nodding my head along with my words trying to remember what I lie about. It's a must that when you lie you have to remember exactly what you say. Especially if you keep forgetting things like me.

"Alone?" Laura asks with a look of agitation decorating her features and her eyebrows furrowed in total confusion.

"Who would I go with? " I ask acting casual while fiddling with the hem of my shirt.

"Alex?" She asks like it's the most obvious thing in the whole world incurring me to roll my eyes.

"Then the question is.. Why would I go with Alex?"

"Because you like him!"

"Yeah.. I know bu-" I begin to say but cut off myself when realization hits me hard. "Wait.. What?!"

"Well, you are just in denial." She shrugs pushing her long extension hair out of her face leaning back on the couch besides Austin.

"Well, he's right over here! "

"I know." She says scrunching her nose up in confusion leaving me with wide crazy eyes. She's really worrying me right now. She's, not blonde for sure so there must be another reason. "Oh. Hey Alex!" She waves at him moments later incurring me to hit my temple with my palm and then run it across my face like a crazy woman.

"You should take your extensions off. " I suggest shaking my head in approval.

"You really are stupid, aren't you?" Austin asks Laura earning a loud slap on his back from her.

"I was just stating the obvious. He already knows anyways!" She adds shaking her hand dissmising the subject.

"Well thank you! " Alex utters loudly heaving a sigh. " It's quite obvious Ellie."

You freaking bastard.

"Look who's talking. Mr. I-have-a-face-that-screams-I-love-Ellie-and-her-" Laura begins to say but Austin closes her mouth with his hand to shut her up.

"We need to get going." I suddenly exclaim looking at the big clock on the wall. 2 am. They all turn to look at me obliviousness written on their faces as I try to come up with an excuse. "What I meant was that we should get enough sleep for tomorrow. "

"Oh okay. You're right. Goodnight Girls." Austin says hugging Laura and giving her a kiss on her neck as she tries to break free from his hold.

"Goodnight. " Alex says waving at Laura and ignoring me as he and Austin make their way to the door. But before he closes the door behind him, he discreetly blows me a kiss.
