"Lay her on the floor!" shouted Steve.
Tony did so, laying her gently on the carpet in his living room. Natasha ran to get towels, wipes, wraps.. etc... Clint was getting a rag and container full of warm water. Tony was barging into every cabinet, looking for the best medicines he had. Hulk was standing there, huffing and puffing, trying to calm down with all this ruckus going on. Steve stood there with Thor quietly, who was kneeling down next to Terra, stroking her hair.
"Thor, out of the way!" commanded Clint, who got the rag and was now dabbing Terra's forehead, trying to get her to wake up.
Natasha got a wipe and was cleaning off any blood that was still trickling out of the wound. That's when they all noticed, there was a lot of blood... so much blood.
The room was so quiet, you could hear everyone's stomachs churn and twist in tight knots.
"We need to remove the knife." said Steve, disturbing the silence.
"That could kill her!" retorted Tony.
"No, if we leave the knife in, it could get infected!"
"He's right. We need to remove it." said Clint.
"If she wakes, she needs someone to 'comfort' her."
"I can do it."
The room fell silent again as they looked up at Loki.
"I can help her." he said again, walking towards the crowd. His eyes were dry of tears now, but they were still a little red. But, they showed improvements of getting over his emotions finally...
Finally...
No one said anything. They only felt the thoughts of disbelieve and mistrust gnaw at their chests towards this man.
Clint and Natasha moved out of the way as Loki knelt down slowly over Terra's limp form. He placed his cold hands on Terra's face, cupping her cheeks with his palms. "Terriana, wake up. Open your eyes!" he said softly.
As if some miracle just happened, she did. Her eyes slowly peeked open, and looked around at all the hopeful faces above her. She looked far ahead and tried to get up, but Loki pushed her back down. She winced painfully and was trying to breath normal again. Her throat was still choking with blood and she tried to swallow it down, with any hopes that it will all go away. It tasted like metal. Foul.
Clint handed her a cup of cold water, which she gladly excepted, though Clint had to hold her head up in order for her to drink. Everyone knew what had to be done, but they were hesitant about it. They didn't know if it would make her wound worse, or if it would kill her from the pain, or if she wouldn't make it either way.
Loki glanced down at the knife and pressed his fingers around it again. Terra gritted her teeth and just couldn't take it. She let out an aching grunt and shut her eyes tight.
Loki looked deep into her eyes and said with all bravery, "Terriana, we have to get the knife out."
"Wh-What!?" her voice was panicky and she froze at the thought of it. It already hurt enough, didn't it!?
"If we leave the knife in, it could get infected and you could possibly die from it. If we take it out, you have a chance and we could try to stop the bleeding." said Steve.
Terra looked terrified to the core. Why? Why did they need to take it out now!?
"Well... In that case... can I..." she looked a little embarrassed. "Can I squeeze Hulk's hand?"
Hulk huffed and strode over to her. He stretched out his hand to her, and she squeezed her little fingers around his big palm.
"Thank you, Hulk." Terra let a tear fall. She was legitimately afraid.
