"Where are the Avengers?" asked a councilman to Fury, who stood in a dark room looking at the screens above him; each screen showing a councilman or councilwoman sitting at a desk.
"I'm not currently tracking their whereabouts. I'd say they've earned a leave of absence." replied Fury, his arms crossed.
"What about this girl, Terriana? She is very powerful, and dangerous if kept in enemy hands."
"I think Terriana has earned her leave of absence just as well as the others. If it weren't for her, that wormhole would never have closed."
"It never would have opened, either."
Fury was growing a little annoyed and defensive. "Terra has just the right to be free-roamed in this world as much as any of us, Councilmen. She doesn't stand a threat to anyone! Besides, she did the right thing and helped end this war that would have gone on until we were wiped out for good! She's not in enemy hands anymore, either! We made sure of that."
"You have no say to tell what she did right or wrong. She was used for the Tesseract, and anything could happen!"
"And, where is Terriana now?" asked a councilwoman.
"She's in safe hands now, that's for sure." relied Fury.
"With who?"
"A trusted Doctor of mine. Eric Selvig. I'm sure with her incredible abilities, Terra can serve a great help for not only him, but Jane Foster and their research."
"And what of the Tesseract?" asked a councilwoman, changing the subject.
"The Tesseract is where it belongs. Out of our reach."
"That wasn't your call." said a councilman.
"I didn't make it. I just didn't argue with the god that did."
"So your letting him take it and the war criminal, Loki, who should be answering for his crime?"
"Oh, I think he will be."
"I don't think you understand what you've started, letting the Avengers loose on this world. They're dangerous." said a councilwomen.
"They surely are. The whole world knows it. Every world knows it."
"Was that the point of all this? A statement?"
"A promise."
