Chapter 10: I'm Sorry

The next day my mom and I woke up early and went to the school together for the meeting with Mr.Ginabi to talk about the incident happened to me and with Jakie's gang.

Upon entering the school vicinity, I am still upset and afraid of what had happened to me .

I am afraid of what will be my punishment. I am afraid of what will be me after this and what will be the things that people will say against me.

In short I am afraid.

People are looking at us, I didn't hear what they say but one thing is for certain, they are talking about me.

The way they look at me, the way they glare at me, the way they stare at me, all are leading into one unified controversy, the clash happened to us.

We then reached the Guidance office and there, parents of Jakie, Carlo, Michael and the two others were waiting for the guidance counselor.

Then Jakie got closer to me and said.

"Kit, excuse me, can we talk? I just wanna say hmm.. well I'm sss..."

but he wasn't able to finish his message because Mr. Ginabi invited us to come inside the office.

I'm sitting next to my mom and she wanted to hold my hand but I refused.

"Good Morning dear parents, well thank you for sparing your time for this,  I know that you are all quite busy, but I think we really need to discuss something about your children" Mr.Ginabi exclaimed.

Mr. Ginabi narrated the whole story to our parents.

"Excuse me Sir, I do know my son and I think you are referring to a wrong person, because my son won't do that. He's good, kind and very hardworking" Jakie's mother reiterated.

Jakie was just looking at the floor while his mother is explaining.

"He can't do that. I know, unless someone did something wrong to him, who wouldn't right?" Jakie's mother added.

"So what are you trying to say? my son is the trouble-maker? are you telling me that your son is a good boy and mine is a rude one?" my mom answered.

"Excuse me, we are here to talk about your sons' condition not for your own grievances. What happened to your sons is enough, don't prolong the commotion" Mr.Ginabi said.

We can feel the hotness of the room. I don't even think my mom will be trying to defend me. I just thought she will just let others to talk something wrong against me.

After a long discussion and agreement, well our sanction has been approved.

"With the consensus of your parents, your punishment will be a one week janitorial service. You are going to clean the ground and the entire school every afternoon before going home" the guidance counselor said.

Jakie and his group tried to disagree.

"Sir, isn't it too much for us? One week will be quite long for a punishment. Can we make it for a day or two?" Jakie exclaimed.

"He's right sir, its a torture. We will be cleaning here in school? I don't even hold a broom in our house, so I don't know what cleaning I could offer." Michael added.

"Well boys, your parents agreed to this already, so you have nothing to worry about and besides they are with me to teach you lessons" said Mr.Ginabi

I don't disagree nor agree. I just listen to them. I just don't care.

Well I still don't get the fact why janitorial service was chosen to be our sanction.
