Air shot through my lungs. My back arched as I sat back up and realize what just happened. I died. But I'm not dead. My eyes widen hugely as I get up and go to the mirror. My hair is bright red. Fire red. My eyes greener than ever. My powers stronger than they ever were before. I smile, which turns into a smirk. I don't think I've ever felt this powerful in my life. I exit the tent to where no one can see me leave. I change into a Phoenix and fly away. I do the ca-caw thing that birds make and it's really loud, or at least to me anyways.

I didn't know what to do. Should I go back to Pan or somewhere else? Should I keep on flying? I decide to go to skull rock. I fly into one of the eyes and land promptly. I change back to human form. I sit on one of the stumps. This is amazing.

•SHADOW'S POV•

I'm sitting in my cage that they put me in as it hangs from a tree. How ironic. I'm used to putting people in the cage. I hear noises and I freeze. They were bird noises. Not just any bird. Ace. My eyes shot up and I get flustered. She's alive.

"Pan," I yell for him. "He's not coming to see you, I figured you'd know that," the lost boy smarts off. "PAN!"

I keep screaming pan's name until he finally shows up.

"Shadow, what in the hell do you want?"

"She's alive!"

At this point, I'm as close to the cage bars as I can be.

"Really? Is this your idea of a game?"

"No, I'm serious!"

"Shadow, shut the hell up or I will kill you."

His eyes showed anger and I could feel the hate for me. I keep trying to hit the cage hard enough to fall down. "Grab him out of that and bring him here," Pan orders a lost boy. The boy grabs my cage and I step out. I run over to Pan and grab his arm. "You have to listen to me," I shake his arm back and forth. "I don't listen to scum like you," he spits in my face. I wipe it off and he grabs me by the shirt collar to drag me to where he wants me.

A group of lost boys circled me as I stood up. "We are going to play a game. I know you remember this game Shadow, you often made us play it. This apple goes on your head and we try to shoot it," he smirks evilly and I back up to a tree. "Please, Pan. You have to believe me. She is alive," I cry out. "Everything you say means nothing to me," he gets his bow ready, "Put the apple on your head now." I do as he says and I close my eyes. Please oh please don't let it hit me. Then I hear the sound again. A Phoenix sound. A bird lands in front of us as it turns into a human.

"Pan, what the hell?"

"Ace, you are alive. How," Pan's stunned face amused me. "Phoenixes can come back to life,so I did come back to life," he runs up to her and hugs her. "I've missed you so much," they kiss and I cringe. "How could you not believe him," I spark at the interest of me. "I didn't know I could trust him," he informs her. "But why would you not think I'm alive," Ace asks.

"Because you died in my arms! How could you expect me to believe that!"

"Because you love me," she cries out loudly. Ace starts to walk towards me. I look at her strangely. She bends down because I had fallen earlier. She makes me look at her by pulling my chin up. Ace plants a kiss on my lips. Her lips were soft, like an angel. She kept making the kiss more passionate. When she let go, I blinked and wanted more.

"Ace, what the hell!"

Ace walks over to Pan.

"I love you and I forgive you for not believing him."

"Then why the bloody hell did you kiss him?"

"My decision. Not yours. I can kiss anyone I want."

Someone comes from behind the trees.
"Ace?"

Ace turns around and looks shocked as Henry runs and hugs her. Her emotions got the better of her as they hug closely together. "Henry, oh my god. I'm so happy to see you. I've missed you so much."

Pan breathes as he didn't tell Henry about Ace's death.

"Where have you been?"

Ace smiles softly. "Hanging around."

"Why didn't you come back here," Henry asks.

"I felt like flying for a bit, why haven't you gone back home," Ace says.

"Because I wasn't gonna leave without you," Henry tears up.

"Ace, I think it's time for you to face punishment," Pan touches her shoulder.

"What?"

"Ace, it's time for you to leave," he sighs. "Why would I do that?"

"Why wouldn't you? What about mom," Henry asks.

"I'm not suited for that life," she lights her fingers up, "I'm too powerful now." "Go home Henry."

"That's it? You're just gonna leave us!"

"Yes."

Ace leaves and heads into the tent. Pan looks at Henry shocked. "Don't leave yet, maybe I can fix this," he says. I feel a lost boy grab my hair to make me look up.

"You. You're gonna fix this," Pan points at me as the pain in my head kicks in.

Why would he trust me?
