~A Few Years Later~

(Stanford's P.O.V.)

Fiddleford and I were taking a break from working on the portal. Stella went to go pick Tiffany from preschool. "Stanford, I have a question for you," Fiddleford spoke. "Ask away, Fiddleford. I'm listening." I said, listening to what he had to ask. "Are you sure it's safe to be making this when you have a family around? Think about your wife, and your kid. She's only four years old, what if something happens to her?" He asked. I didn't reply right away. I didn't even think about that, but we were done building it anyways, all we needed to do was test it out. "Fiddleford," I start. "Stella and Tiffany will be fine, I won't let anything happen to them ever." I claim. "I hope you know what you're doing as well, Stanford. This is your family we're talking about," Fiddleford reminded me. We went back down to the basement and to where the portal was. I grabbed the dummy and rope I had prepared. Fiddleford had volunteered to tie the rope to his wrist, and so he did. After making sure everything was tight and secure, I started the portal. We approached it, ready to test it. I held the dummy while Fiddleford had the rope securely tight around his wrist. Finally, I was going to get the answer to the source of the towns anomalies. "Ready..and..-" Suddenly, Fiddleford was being pulled in by a mysterious force. I grabbed the rope before he could get fully sucked in. His head made it in, but the rest of his body was still visible to me. "I got ya, buddy!" I pull with all my strength. Finally, he was pulled out, and we came stumbling on the ground. I got up and crawled to my friend. "What is it? Is it working? What did you see?!" I questioned him, I wanted answers. Then, he started talking gibberish which confused me greatly. He sat up, facing away from me. "When Gravity Falls Earth become sky, fear the beast with just one eye." He said. "Fiddleford, get a hold of yourself, you're not making any sense," I reached for his shoulder, but he pulled away and said, "This machine is dangerous; you'll bring about the end of the world with this, destroy it before it destroys us all!" He grabbed my shoulders while yelling. "I can't destroy this, it's my life's work!" I said. "I fear we've unleashed a grave danger on the world, one I just assume forget." He walked away. I was furious. "Fine! I don't need you! I don't need anyone!" I didn't even realize my own wife and child were standing at the door. Tiffany was hiding behind Stella with her teddy bear in her arms. "Stanford? Wh-what is this?" She asked. "Stella, I told you not to come down here." I got up, walking towards them. "What happened down here? Is Fiddleford gonna be alright?" She questioned. "E-everything will be okay, just go back upstairs and I'll explain later." She nodded and headed upstairs with Tiffany. Abruptly, I heard whispers as soon as they left. "What? Who said that?" 'Am I losing my mind?' I thought. I needed someone I could trust to help me besides Stella and Tiffany. I can't believe I'm doing this, but I gotta hide the journals and call my brother..Stanley Pines...
