(Ford's P.O.V.)

'C'mon..work.' I thought as I was working on an old invention I didn't get to finish because of the portal and Stanley. This invention was supposed to be a similar version of the portal but just a little smaller. Every time I test it, it always malfunctions or breaks down. This portal was something almost like a remote that will construct a wormhole to another dimension. Really, it's just a prototype for now.
"Grunkle Ford!" I turned around and saw Dipper with the parts I needed for the invention. "I got the tools and parts you needed." He held out the bag of tools and parts I needed.
"Well done, my boy!" I praise, taking the bag from him.
"Grunkle Ford, I've been meaning to ask you something, what were you really going to plan for when the summer's over? I overheard you and Great Aunty Stella about Tiffany's future."
I sigh, putting the screwdriver down. I turned to face him. "Dipper, me and Stella couldn't agree if either we should send Ryan off to school or send Tiffany somewhere else to live." I explained to him what the plan was until Tiffany and Ryan came down. I told him to not say a word about our discussion and walked to my children.
Tiffany spoke first. "Dad? Bill destroyed the necklace. All there is left if this crystal." She showed me the clear crystal that was used to keep Bill away. These were rare and hard to find. "He's just lucky I didn't beat him up while he was in your body." She adds, handing me the object.
"As long as the crystal is safe and unharmed, you'll just have to find a way to keep it close to you." I told her. She nods and looked over my shoulder.
"What're you working on?" Ryan asked.
"It's a portal in working on that will generate a wormhole to another dimension and reality. Maybe an alternate universe." I explain.
"Is it working?" He asked me.
"Not exactly, I need some energy for it to work."
"Maybe the crystal?" Tiffany suggested. "I noticed some energy was in it and I think it might work."
"Are you insane? This is the only object that will protect you from Bill!" I exclaimed.
"I think I can protect myself. After all, I've been with Uncle Stan for what? Almost twenty years!" She reminded me. I didn't say anything, nor did anyone else.
"C'mon Tiff, I think you just need some coffee." Ryan pulled her upstairs.
"But, I don't drink coff-"
"To the kitchen!" He pushed her inside the elevator and went inside after her. I looked down at the crystal that was still in my hand and thought about it. This crystal did have potential and kinetic energy in it, so I guess I could test it out.
"It's worth a try." I mutter to myself. I got back to work on the invention.

(Tiffany's P.O.V.)

Ryan handed me a cup of tea, sitting down next to me with a cup of coffee.
"Dad doesn't understand." I mutter to myself.
"Did you stay up all night again?" He asked me, putting a hand on my shoulder.
"No, I just don't like the fact that he thinks I can't handle myself. I've encountered him before with Mabel and Dipper." I rant on.
"I think it's because he lost mom." He guessed.
"You think?" I look up at him, taking a sip of my tea.
"I heard him blame himself because he broke this promise about protecting you and mom." He replied.
"Dang, I almost forgot about that promise he made about protecting me and mom." I recalled many years ago.
Suddenly, "Kids, Stanley! Come down here now!" Me and Ryan ran down to the basement. Dipper and Mabel joined us then uncle Stan. We all saw dad holding something behind his back.
"Did it work??" Dipper asked.
Dad laughed. "Yes it did! Oh my god, it actually worked!"
"Wait, what worked?" Stan questioned.
"My invention!" Dad showed us the portal he was talking about earlier.
"How did you get it to work??" I asked.
"The crystal actually worked! It has enough energy to take us anywhere we want!" Dad exclaimed, obviously.
"Alright, cool, now can we all go now? I'm missing some wrestling matches right now." Stan said.
"Yes, yes, of course." Dad dismissed us, but I noticed a strange glow from the machine.
"Uh, dad? Did you make sure the crystal was stable?" I asked him.
"Well, no. Why?"
"It's glowing an unusual color." I point to it.
"Shoot! Everyone, get down!" We all did what dad said, covering our heads. A bright light then consume us. Seconds later, it stopped. We got up, assuming it was okay to stand.
"What the..? Where are we?"
