Shane's POV~
Ohhhhh crap.
I glanced over at Sawyer as we walked down the hospital halls. "Yeah... I kinda didn't think about that..."
"Regardless of whether you move in the long shot or not, you at least have to stay until Joey gets better," Sawyer surely said. "You haven't seem him over these past few weeks. He's been so depressed. If you left him now, when he finally thinks you like him - "
"But I do like him," I interrupted. "I-I like him a lot. I just... I don't know."
He paused. "Are you gonna tell Lisa?"
"I have to," I shrugged. "I'm sure it'll be hard, but I don't want to cheat on her. None of this is her fault, we've just been... I don't know. Kind of distant, I guess. We thought this move would help us rediscover out love for each other, but..." I trailed off, running a hand through my hair. "I don't know."
"But... you and Joey," he exhaled, shaking his head. "You have to make up your mind, dude. You can't have both of them."
I sighed. "You're right. I guess I'll just have to tell Lisa we're putting off the move. That'll at least give me some time to think."
Sawyer yawned and stretched. "Oh my god, I'm exhausted. I didn't even realize until now, with everything that happened to Joey..."
"Yeah, I think I'm gonna head home and sleep for a while," I closed my eyes, dreaming about putting my head down on a pillow and dozing off... I was snapped back to reality as a thought occurred to me. "Shit!"
"What?" Sawyer looked a bit concerned.
"I don't have a car, I rode here in the ambulance," I explained.
"You could crash at my place for the night," he offered.
"Really?" my eyes widened. "I mean, I wouldn't want to impose..."
"It's no trouble," Sawyer smiled.
"Thanks," I grinned. Joey was right. Sawyer was a great person.

Joey's POV~
The nurses woke me up a bit earlier than I would've liked in the morning so I could have some breakfast. The food wasn't bad, and I hadn't realized how hungry I was! They gave me a bit more pain medication, and changed my bandages.
I was still in a good mood from Shane's visit last night. I was surprised when the nurses let me know it was already late enough for me to have visitors. I couldn't wait to see Shane again, and Sawyer, and Luke, and Cat and Ingrid and all my friends! Knowing them, they would most likely be worried out of their minds over me being ok. I would be glad to have their company though. One of the main setbacks of being hospital-bound was the boredom. How I would love to see a friendly face again!
When the clock finally reached 10:30, my room was flooded with people. It felt like everyone in California had come to visit! II'll admit, I may have been exaggerating a little bit, but there were tons of people. I got so many hugs over the course of fifteen minutes.
After everything had calmed down a bit, Sawyer made his way through the crowd. "Hey," I smiled. "Where's Shane?"
"I dunno," Sawyer shrugged, looking confused. "He said he was going to be here. This morning he went to go see Lisa, but I don't know what happened after that. It was like, an hour ago."
"Hmm..." I exhaled. "I hope he turns up. If you hear from him, tell him I want to see him again." As Sawyer turned to leave, I reached out and grabbed his arm, pulling him closer. "Uh... how much of... what happened did you tell everyone?"
"I just said that you got in an accident," he placed a hand on my arm. "I was gonna let you decide how much they get to know."
"Thank you," I smiled. Looking down, I quietly said, "This is something I want to keep on the down low. I tried to kill myself. This is really personal."
"I understand," Sawyer grinned, straightening up. "I'll go see if I can get in touch with Shane."
He left, and I was surrounded again by all my friends. Everyone was talking at once, and I couldn't really comprehend much of what anyone was saying. I mostly just nodded and smiled a lot.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw someone walk hesitantly into the room. Our eyes met and she looked away, brushing a strand of hair back behind her ear. I addressed the people surrounding me, "Uh, guys... could I have some time alone?"
They all complied, and as she turned to leave, I quietly said her name. She looked back at me from the doorway, not daring to move any closer. We stared at each other, not really knowing what to say.
"Meghan," I gently said, sitting up and breathing slowly. "I... I'm sorry."
"You don't need to be," she said, her voice so soft it was barely audible. "You've done nothing wrong."
"But I have," I interrupted. "Come over here. Please."
After a moment, she stepped towards me, biting her lip and avoiding my gaze. When she was close enough, I reached out and grabbed her hand.
"I'm sorry for using you," I started. "I shouldn't have kissed you without any emotion behind it. And I'm sorry that I've been ignoring you for the past few weeks. But most of all, I'm sorry I lead you on." I exhaled and looked down at my wrists. "I know what a broken heart can do."
She followed my gaze and I could tell she understood. "I... I don't blame you for anything," she slowly said. "I just feel... stupid for feeling that way towards you."
"Don't say that," I smiled at her, placing my fingers on her chin and tilting her head up. "You can feel any way you like. I'm sorry I don't feel the same way, but you're one of my best friends, and I don't want that to stop. Not ever."
She smiled, then leaned down and hugged me. "I'm glad you're ok." She sighed. "And I'm happy you have Shane."
I hugged her back. "I missed you so much..."
