Chapter 22

Raelynn's POV ~

*BEEP BEEP BEEP*

My alarm was going off, all i really wanted to do was punch my alarm and go back to sleep but i knew i had to go to school today because i had to talk to Lila. I decided to do a lazy day so i snoozed for another 15minutes and then got up and got ready. It was cold out anyway, it was mid November so i just put on jeans and a fleece sweat jacket and was ready to go.

Dylan showed up at around 6:45 and that started the day. I hopped in the car to an awesome surprise.

"Here" Dylan said as he handed me a cup of S'mores hot chocolate, which was like heaven in a cup!!

(A/N : if you live by a Wawa and haven't gotten their s'mores hot chocolate i suggest you go get yourself a cup! Haha its amazing!!)

"Aw! Thanks Dylan" on the way to school i sipped my coco and was running my thoughts about what to say to Lila. We got to school and just made it to class before the bell rang.

-Skipping to lunch-

All of us walked to the cafeteria together from study hall. We usually bought lunch because we were to lazy to pack our own lunches. The 4 of us Dylan, Aubrey, Kaden, and i were on the lunch line. I saw Lila come in and sit down in her usual spot all alone. She had a sandwich but she bought a drink & snack from the vending machines. We got off line and walked over to our table and put our lunched down.

"I'll be back guys. Im gonna go talk to her."

I turned around after i placed my tray down and walked towards her. 'Here goes nothing' i mumbled under my breath as i walked over.

"Hey Lila." She looked up really shocked.

"Hey Raelynn... Whats up?" I sat down across from her.

"Well... Umm... We really miss you." It was the only thing i could think of but it was true.

"Ya know the 3 of us. Dylan, Aubrey, and i."

"Really?"

"Yeah.... I mean we were all so close and then. Well i mean you know"

"Im sorry Rae. I just-when Pat asked me out i just got over excited i guess. He just never wanted to share his time with me. So i stopped being close for him.... And then he dumped me because hes a total ass. It was for the better anyway, since he was cheating." She looked sad.

"Im sorry Lila. I didnt know"

"Its okay its not your fault."

"So after you guys spilt why didnt you start talking to us again?" I wasnt sure if i was really ready for her to answer this question but i wanted to know.

"I thought you guys wouldnt want to be friends anymore since i kinda just dropped off the face of the earth from our friendship"

"Lila you should never have felt that way. We were all so close it hurt us, but it only hurt us because we all cared about each other.... Do you want to come eat lunch with us?"

"I know and im sorry. Would you mind if i joined?"

"LILA! For crying out loud get your butt over here!" We laughed, she got up and ran around the table and hugged me.

"I missed you guys too" she let go and we walked over back over to the table were everyone was at.

"LILA!" Everyone yelled in unison.

"Hey guys! I wanted to apologize for kinda being a bitch and just leaving you guys." Aubrey got up and hugged her.

"Welcome back girl!" Aubrey squeaked in joy.

"Thanks!"

The rest of lunch we caught up and reminisced about old times and just had fun.

"Lets hang after school my place." I offered, everyone agreed. I was happy because i gained back an old best friend.

The rest of the day passed by in good time, it didnt feel like forever but it defiantly didnt pass quickly. Last period bell rang and i couldnt have been more happy i was just totally over school today. Dylan and i didnt have last period together so we usually met at his car, but he texted me and told me to meet him by his locker because he had to get something. I walked over to his locker and he had a gift box in his hand.

"Hey boo" he said as he pulled me into a tight hug.

"Heyyy..... Whats in the BOX?!?" I asked excitedly.

"You'll see" he teased

"Dyl!!!"

He closed his locker and stuck the box in his bag and threw it over his shoulder and then grabbed my hand as we started to walk down the hallway.

"Dylan you are really one of the biggest teases i know! You wanted me so see the box to wonder what it is but you're gonna make me wait."

"Yup. Haha and Lila is coming to your house with us, shes waiting at my car."

"Okay."

When we got to the car Lila was sitting on the curb next to the car listening to music.

"Hey!" She got up and walked over

"Hey guys thanks for giving me a ride."

"No prob anytime" Dylan said.

We got in the car and went to my house. I was still wondering what was in that box Dylan had in his locker. I wanted to ask but i figured that i should wait until we at least got to my house. The ride was quiet and i realized how tired i still was i think Dylan could tell but he didnt say anything, i was never really tired in the afternoon honestly i was bouncing off the walls excited to be home haha. Kaden had practice as usual so Aubrey and Kaden werent home yet. We got inside just hung out until Aubrey got back.

-skipping to when Aubrey & Kaden get home-

We hung out and played games, watched movies, and did homework. We call caught up and had a great time i honestly had one of the best days in a long time. After dinner Lila, and Aubrey went home, it was about 9 o'clock and Dylan had to go home soon so i decided to ask about the box.

The 2 of us were hanging out in the hammock in the backyard with a blanket over us. I loved when we were alone together not talking just enjoying each others company because its just so relaxing.

"So what was in the box Dylan?" I really wanted to know.

"Im not telling you Rae, you'll know when im ready."

"Ready? Ready for what?"

"You'll see" he kissed the top of my head.

"Okay..."

We cuddled and wound falling asleep, my mom came out and woke us up. Dylan left around 10. I really wanted to know what was in the box! What did he need to be ready for? We had been going out almost a month now so maybe it was a present for that? All i knew was if it was that import at that he wanted to wait for the right time, then it would be worth the wait.
